because u need big values currents, its better 2 use 2 different separate circuits, directly from the source (the battery).
personally I ll option for linear stabs because u want like me to stay aside from coils and trafos and a power darlington still does the job

we used a dedicated comercial device instead.
keep me updated because ur project could interest
1. check if didnt invert the connections of the keybd and mouse
2. if u have an old mb and u played with the keybd/mouse connections while the mb is powered, these connections arent working more, sorry
3. if u live in a dusty environment, try to remove the dram and clean well their connectors...
Re: hard disk prepearing
define in bios to be turned off after x min inactivity
dont push the reset button if you are not stuck
shut down the computer via the appropriate menu
dont move the computer during its work
make regular backups
try to add a fan pointing to the disk to keep it cooler...
