    Camera flash repair

I brushed the pcb with isopropyl alcohol but alas, i'm getting an ever weaker whine now and much more intermittent. I seem to be damaging it more every time i open up the case and noticed sires breaking that are too small for me to resolder. Is there anything worth salvaging from the remains?

    Camera flash repair

What would I looking for here, and if i found whatever it is what could i do to fix it. Worth noting that another one of these flashes is about £13 I'm mainly repairing it on principle and to learn.

    Camera flash repair

I cleaned everything up, and now i'm getting the whine as the flash charges but it's week and intermittent and sometimes requires i shake the entire flash. There is also no light indicating power. I've included two photos of the circuit board which appear most damaged. A switch and resistor. I...

    Camera flash repair

Howdy all, I just received an old camera flash in the post and on opening the battery compartment i was met with two very corroded AA batteries. I was wondering if the corrosion will have caused damage to the flash beyond repair or if cleaning the contacts and replacing any corroded wire will...

    Basic Led Circuit not lighting

You are absolutely right the voltage is around 8.2V. Is the reason that LED lights so dimly due to the lack of 'force' so to speak that the voltage pushes the current through the circuit?

    Basic Led Circuit not lighting

I sorted out the last circuit but the LED's weren't bright enough. I bought a set of LEDs, however they are incredibly dull despite following this calculator: https://www.amplifiedparts.com/tech-articles/led-parallel-series-calculator . Here is an example of some circuits. The Circuit 6 LED's...

    Basic Led Circuit not lighting

well that might be my issue sorted right there! I measured voltage of the battery it only read 4.6V. Is it normal for cheap batteries to have unreliable voltages, or does the voltage output decrease as the battery is used? edit: the battery was fine. Weirdly I measured it again (read 9V) and...

    Basic Led Circuit not lighting

I used a multimeter on the diode test setting to test each LED and they all lit up and showed resistance. How would I test the circuit through voltage measurements?

    Basic Led Circuit not lighting

Howdy all, I've made a basic LED circuit based off of this schematic: And in physical form as: I have tested every single diode for function and polarity, as well as the wires and components for continuity. Prior to soldering the circuit I tested it on a breadboard, and of course it worked...

[SOLVED] Inflatable Hard Drive - transferal of data between three devices via USB

Can this not be done over a single usb port? Surely the computer does not need a separate connection directly to the COM port of the arduino. Can the data lines of the usb be used to send the serial data to the arduino via the digital input connections on the arduino?

[SOLVED] Inflatable Hard Drive - transferal of data between three devices via USB

I’m struggling to understand of your replies as they continually ignore the question I actually posed regarding between devices. The only currently being undertaken is by the muppet who seems intent on misunderstanding quite a simple proposal and giving an opinion where it isn’t wanted and...

[SOLVED] Inflatable Hard Drive - transferal of data between three devices via USB

My apologies. It is not the hard drive itself which inflates, but rather an external component e.g. a balloon, which inflates or deflates in proportion to the amount of data on the device. In theory the volume of the balloon will be mapped to the capacity of the drive such that at the drives...
