Sampling Oscilloscope - need explanation of its use

Sampling Oscilloscope Anyone knows what's it used for? Well, I know it can perform Time Domain Reflectometry, but I don't know where TDR is necessary. Mother board, audio card or video card design or testing? Thanks in advance.

Running two versions of MENTOR PADS at the same time

mentor pads on virtual pc I never tried but it is possible. If you have run both installation on the same SDD_HOME Directory the configurator file keeps tracks of all the versions. You have to launch it (it shuold be in SDD_ROOT\win32\configurator.exe) and then select the version you want to...

    Calculating Battery Life

how to calculate battery life Keep in mind that the nominal battery capacity is only reached when you discharge it with a constant current. Your system power consumpion will be strongly variable, so charge effectively available could be as low as 60% of the nominal charge or worse. \]

Copper resistivity - resistivity table that looks wrong

copper resistivity inch While studying this high-speed signal integrity book by Thierauf I found this resistivity table that looks wrong: https://books.google.com/books?id=SbuUX63oTIYC&printsec=frontcover&dq=high-speed+signal+integrity#PPA18,M1 The firs column (Ω-meter column) looks right but...

Question regarding negative VCC and diodes

The picture is a bit misleading but you're right. Diodes are forward-biased so voltage drop is positive from left to right.

How protect PCB in outdoor environment

protect pcb I need to place Wireless Sensor Network PCBs in outside environment. It won't be directly esposed to wind or rain but it needs to relaiably work for montsh in harsh conditions of temperature and humidity. I don't know if there's some insulating spray or paint that is commonly used...

can anyone explain this about op amp ?

Proportionality between Vin nad Vout wouldn't be possible without a connection. The equivalent circuit just doesn't make it evident, but the voltage controlled voltage genarator (A*Vin) means some kind of electrical connection exists.

is it possible to draw a 3D graph of the electric field?

Re: metor graphics PADS 2007 doesn't make that. In PADS Logic you draw the schematic, in PADS Layout you define the layout and in PADS Router you make the routing. HFSS by Ansoft does it.

    RESISTORS CAN'T READ COLORS

I suppose soldering them out and measure them is not an option since if they're burnt out their value cuold be altered from the original. So, yes, it is impossible to guess without additional infos. What amplifier is it? See if you can find a manual or a schematic on the net. Or try to draw...

    Soldermask and pastemask dimensioning

pastemask soldermask pcb Ok. I think that for a standard size pad a 1:1 pastemak/pad and soldermask/pad ratio should fit as for the other packages in the OrCAD libs. Upon generating the gerber files I'll set it if needed according to my manufacturer's capability.

    Soldermask and pastemask dimensioning

pastemask Hi everybody, I'm switching from Mentor PADS 2007.2 to OrCAD. I'm trying to build my first padstack in OrCAD but I don't know how much I have to oversize the soldermask and pastemask with respect to the pad size, since Mentor PADS does it automatically. Does anyone have any...
