What type of battery to apply (rechargeable, low temp, long time)

Surface temp of battery will be around -20C only at most 20 days in year. 1000mAh is a litle bit overestimated value but with a margin. Solar panel during avarage radiation delivers enough energy to run the sensor during all twenty four hours but i assume bad weather for two weeks.

What type of battery to apply (rechargeable, low temp, long time)

Baterry should operate below -20 C (-4 F). What do you think to apply LiFePO4 battery? *EDIT* 1000mAh and 3,3V

What type of battery to apply (rechargeable, low temp, long time)

Hello I'm going to build a wireless weather sensor powered by micro solar panel (5.5V 1W). What type of battery will survive long winter months with very low temperature and could be charge with no limits? I was considering to use a LiFePO4 battery. Do you have better ideas? Regards!

Micro wind turbine - weather station

I've considered, but because of long nights in winnter months in my country, it wouldn't be the best solution. And sun shines only in the day, wind blows constantly.

Micro wind turbine - weather station

My first idea was to use anemometer cups as a turbine. It's very simpe and the main reason - it's sensitivity for lower winds. The anemometer cups can start rotate from about 2m/s and increase rotation with higher speed value. But the problem is low rpm value. What do you think about motor used...

Micro wind turbine - weather station

    1) I consider BLDC motor to be the best option, but I couldn't find a BLDC motor with low RPM value :( What about AC motors? 2) What about electronic converter system between motor and batteries? Do you have any idea?

Micro wind turbine - weather station

Hi everyone! I'm building wireless weather station. The sensor will be located away from my house and because it consumpt a little bit of energy (few mA) it has to be powered by it's own energy supplier. I've been thinking a lot, and the best option in this case seems to be micro wind turbine...
