I found out my user's manual has a link to the proper IDE, also linux compatible. I feel slow. :-( It has some issue with the serial ports option greyed out, but that's whole another isse.
Just a quick question: in the official documentation of that board ( Tiva C Series TM4C123G LaunchPad Evaluation Board ) it requires IDE which runs only under Windows. Am I locked to that OS, or can the chip be programmed with another IDE, which runs under Linux? I assume most processors can be...
So I have to make a USB to RS232 converter using ft232r on a custom designed board. Soldered everything, connected to the PC, installed the drivers and then ran the provided test program. It gave the following error:

So the paste mask should be smaller that the solder mask? In the image here
is the silverish thing solder mask and the spot-patterned thing on top of it - paste mask? Did I get it right?
What's the difference between solder mask and paste mask layers in gerber files? I don't quite get it and there is no obvious place to read about it either.
