From my IT experience I have not had any problems with either any of the Dell , Sony Vaio, or Toshiba laptops.

If your laptop will boot up to Windows only part way then you probably have a software integrity issue. Your laptop 9 times out of 10 is still good, you will just need to reload Windows.
