designing a lowpass filter for audio

Thanks for the help everyone! however, Im still no further forward. I've seen the schematics, filters can't possibly be as simple as those little patterns though? Could somone provide the forumulae so that I can calculate the R/C ratio; becuase I can only find variable capacitors in the...

some advice please on mains and vacuum tubes

Thanks very much Keith, I do have something planned for the circuit, I just have to get over my fear of high voltages first :S

some advice please on mains and vacuum tubes

http://www.r-type.org/pdfs/6sl7gt.pdf These are the tubes I have, stated voltage is 250v. Mains here in the UK is 240v, and i'm not sure about plugging something which I have wired-up myself into the mains. I'd do a 12V adapter but obviously this tube is designed to work at a high voltage. I...

designing a lowpass filter for audio

You're right sorry its 18db. Its quite non-standard as far as filters go, their usually either 12db or 24db.

designing a lowpass filter for audio

@Audioguru (good name btw...) Im not sure what kind of music you listen to, but filters of this kind have been used since the 50's and 60's. The reason is because it sounds good. Filters are extensively used in modern electronic music, and frequently in other genres too. The filter, in its own...

Re: Download youtube filesnot in *.flv ? file2hd.com may be able to help, they've got a converter now.

designing a lowpass filter for audio

Is that what everyone does, just buys IC's with the filters allready prefabricated? I was hoping somone could, for interests sake, help me turn a vacuum tube into a filter. I'd need to know the differences between a op-amp's response, input, voltages, etc and a vacuum tube's though. I think its...

designing a lowpass filter for audio

No, I wasn't! Im a complete newbie who'd just like to learn more about filters, and build his own (then i'll probably use it a couple times and record the output) So, tell me which kind of filter I should be making? Im sorry but your logic is completely screwed! How did anyone ever lay down a...

designing a lowpass filter for audio

Yeah, I know. Everyone is all about DSP. So, I need to build a multi-potentiometer, electronically controlled which splits over all of those orders of filter?

designing a lowpass filter for audio

Hello All, I am a musician and I am branching out into electronics. I'm a fairly technically minded person, I took tech at school and got an A+ but that was years ago and I think i've forgotten everything, so i'd appreciate a bit of help designing a variable frequency lowpass filter suitable for...

Using a MC149CP balanced modulator chip to build a ring modulator

my first ringmod Hello Everyone! This is my first post so, first a quick intro: I am shoe, Im from edinburgh, 23 years old. So, I'm using a MC149CP balanced modulator chip to build myself a ring modulator on breadboard. Since I am an ultimate noobie and haven't done any electronics since...
