    How to check twisted pairs?

Thanks for the help guys (& gals?). I think in my case a loop inductance comparison to other pairs will tell me if there are a couple of suspect pairs. Then I can rig an improvised TDR which should tell me where along the cable the problem is. FYI this is a tether for a Lamp Ray hull...

    How to check twisted pairs?

I have a system with 1200 feet of multiple twisted pair cable operating a remote underwater robot. The cable is in several segments. It Ohms out fine but I suspect some of the signals are mis-connected as pairs in some segments as I am getting more cross talk than was seen in an earlier...

If anybody need help in EAGLE, ask me in this POST !

Thanks Klaus, that helps. I didn't know you could enter a display list on the command line like that. What is the "display icon"? Nothing seems to have that name or do something appropriate when right clicked. I am running version 7.3.0. SherpaDoug

If anybody need help in EAGLE, ask me in this POST !

Re: If anybody need help in EAGLE - Making hand stuffing prints Does anyone have an easy method, tool, ULP or something to make legible hand assembly prints? I want top and bottom prints that show outlines, pads, part names etc for one side only, but minimal clutter and nothing from the...

How to connect to network beyond the local router?

Can I have a Yun controlled box that for example measures water temperature, and connect it to a marina's WiFi using their WiFi ssid and password. Then connect to the Yun from my home PC across town to read water temperature at the marina, all without having to configure the marina's router? I...

How to connect to network beyond the local router?

This is probably a basic networking question, but I am new to networking. I can address my uC (Arduino Yun) at name.local or 192.168.1.x but how do I connect to it when it is connected to a WiFi router across town or 1000 miles away? Do I use its MAC address? Just how do I do that? Simply...

    Interfacing website with arduino

Look at this site: data.sparkfun.com It is a free site that you can send data to from an Arduino or similar uC, and browse the data there or download it as a CSV file. You can also host the software on your own server.

    External Antenna for Arduino Yun

Soldering a UFL connector onto the SWF pads may be the best option. From what I have read the SWF connector is for test only and does not retain itself. The SWF spring loaded internal switch self-ejects the plug once you let go of it. There is no physical room on the PCB for a SMA connector.

    External Antenna for Arduino Yun

The Arduino Yun controller board has a WiFi transceiver with a SWF type connector (https://www.digikey.com/us/en/ph/Murata/SWF_Connector.html) which passes through to a ceramic built in omni antenna. Conventional WiFi antennas usually have a RP-SMA or a UFL connector. What is the best way to...

Name of coax ground isolation device?

With something like this: https://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/28L0138-10R-10/240-2438-1-ND/806798 you can pull out the heavy wire and wind 2 windings of smaller wire to get a transformer.

    question about Practical microstrip line

You should talk to the board house that will be making the board. Most anybody can make 8 mil lines. 6 mil may cost a little extra. 4 mil is available if you are willing to pay.

ATT M2X unreliable? Any good alternatives?

Is anyone using AT&T M2X to relay data to a remote device? I find it is easy to use but very unreliable. Maybe it is something I am doing wrong. I have an Arduino based datalogger that will eventually be hundreds of miles away on a WiFi connection. I need to get a few hundred bytes of data...

Name of coax ground isolation device?

Outer-DC-Block seems to be the term I need! Thank you. Two capacitors would work but I was hoping for a screw-on adapter that was weather tight. I was also hoping it would be under $100. At UHF frequencies transformers are made from ferrite beads all the time.

Name of coax ground isolation device?

Some sort of ferrite bead transformer would work at lower frequencies, but I am not so sure at 2.4GHz.

Name of coax ground isolation device?

I was hoping this was a common enough problem I could just buy a weatherproof widget to screw onto the SMA connectors, like they do with video isolation transformers to block ground loop hum bars. The waveguide solution is elegant but much too expensive. I will probably make something with...
