Where can I get a cheap USB-GPIB interface?

Re: USB-GPIB interface Don't lose your money on this crap. It's just a toy that does not provide any library or port emulation.

USB to GPIB interface for cheap

This is not a real interface. It is just a demo tool. The Softmark "interface" is locked to the Softmark application. With this, you can only enter manually one GPIB request at a time. Forget any real GPIB control from your program or using a virtual COM channel going to GPIB like the others...

    ******MENT0R GRAPHIC PAD*S Lay0ut*****

dxdesigner student workbook Replying to melc, my opinion is that I still search for what reason Mentor would deserve that "5 stars" in EDA support. It would be more like 5 black holes. There is a mountain of of bugs that are very easy to fix and nonetheless get trashed as "will not fix". There...

    place part in expedition

Yes, lock is a super-fix that you would normally use for cells/parts that will never move again. A good example is the cells for which the position is set by mechanical constraints. E.g. the connectors, screws, leds... You lock the above parts/cells first then finish placing the remaining parts...

    Mentor Expedition Questions

mentor design capture tutorial Altough there has been pdf's that looked like a user guide to the Mentor ExpeditionPCB tools suite, my worst grief against this suite is the lack of a true manual covering all topics in a logical and printable way. In fact, the only choices left to the customer...

high speed nets on outer layers.

My 2 cents to this topic : - Microstrip has lower loss due to the fact that air is less lossy than board dielectric -> better for high frequencies like PCIe - Stripline needs thinner traces to achieve same impedance than microstrip -> better density - Copper thickness on internal layers is...

    Mentor Expedition Questions

mentor design capture expedition tutorial There is a scale symbol function available in the library manager. Simply search for "symbol scale" in help I typed a much longer reply but a stupid  timeout on the login of the reply page trashed my answer. I suppose no edaboard admin ever...

how to build your own motherboard?

how to create a motherboard Harbinger, When you thing you may apply "hobby" methods like floating wires in a design using signal edges in the GHz range, immediately forget about it. Even bringing power to the CPU will be impossible. Decoupling lengths to the lowest valued caps are in the range...

Need information about USB cat5 repeaters

USB cat5 repeater I have to install a logitech globe/sphere webcam at about 10m from inside a building. The webcam will be enclosed in a glass dome and exposed to very very harsh environmental conditions, i.e. cold, wind and lightning. I know that there are commercial USB extenders that go...

USB2 hubs speed with USB1.1 devices

You are right :D For other interested people, I found it at this address: **broken link removed** It is called a tetrahub as you said, ref F5U231. Anyone else, another models known, specially in europe ? Thx

USB2 hubs speed with USB1.1 devices

Does anybody have an idea about how USB2.0 hubs manage multiple USB1.1@12Mbps devices. I.E., a four channel USB2 hub is connected to four USB1.1 devices working at 12Mbps. Is the hub able to convert the 4 streams to USB2 and give access to the simultaneous aggregated 48Mbps bandwith? Or is it...

Converting Matlab files to VHDL files

Re: matlab to vhdl You have also Xilinx's System Generator. Test algorithms in Matlab then implement them in Xilinx FPGAs. I don't know if intermediate files are HDL or EDIF.

    EN2004,WG2004,Expedition PCB,ISD2004,PADS!What's the diff?

mentor graphics wg2004 Hi, I don't know much about EN2004 but I am using ISD/WG2004. So : - EN means ENterprise while WG means WorkGroup level tools - Expedition PCB is the PCB layout tool of the WG2004 PCB suite - ISD2004 is the Integrated Systems Distribution, a disk collection containing...

Who has study materials for EXPEDITION PCB & DESIGN CAPT

Re: EXPEDITION PCB help I mentioned this problem earlier on this forum and also complained to Mentor. It is quite clear that no real detailed manual exists for the WG suite and its tools (DC, DesignView, ExpeditionPCB, Library Manager mostly). In fact, the so called manual is more something...
