Hi, i have designed a project based on cavity backed helical antenna array.
Please tell me how i can find its power handling capacity. its maximum Efield = 2.1587 * e^003 V/m.
It uses strip of width 10mm and thickness 1mm as radiating element (instead of a normal wire helix).
i learnt from...
can you post a picture if your hfss design? because i think your feeding technique is wrong. and did you try applying a ground plane in your whole antenna, this would reflect the whole radiation in the direction opposite to it.
For this, insert a surface and just declare it infinite ground...
there is a paper in which phased array is implemented in helices. if you are a member of ieee you can download it.
Xiang-Qiang Li; Qing-Xiang Liu; Jian-Qiong Zhang; Liu Zhao; “16-element Single Layer rectangular radial line helical array antenna for high power applications.” Publication Year...
Refer to the site
https://www.daycounter.com/LabBook/Microstrip/Microstrip-Characteristic-Impedance.phtml
it gives the impedance of strip line
and search for strip line impedance you will get the online calculators.
i hope it helps.good luck
i changed only the sweep. not the solution frequency. my solution frequency is 2.4GHz
the earlier sweep was 2GHz to 7GHz.
later i changed it from 1GHz to 7GHz.
hi fayyaz.bashir any luck finding the answer?
i have got the same problem.
i am simulating helical antenna array n have used the frequency sweep from 2GHz to 7GHz. for finding out the nature of return loss graph for the frequencies beyond the range i increased the sweep from 0.5Ghz to 10GHz...
Hi, recently i designed a helical antenna array at 2.4GHzin which i took the sweep from 2GHz to 7GHz.
in this range i got the reflection coefficient around -15dB at 2.4GHz.
the graph started from -14 at 2GHz and then went further down to -15dB at 2.4GHz and at 4.1GHz its reflection coefficient...
oh no no..i think i should have started a new thread for my questions. i just totally understood the replies of this thread so i posted my doubt on the same thread. there is absolutely no relation between my project an the helix working on 900GHz. actually my structure is not yet simulated and...
i am using hfss. and i also got proper impedance matching.yes my gain is very low as the pitch is low.and i designed this kind of helix because when we insert a helix in a cavity it resembles a resonator. so our guide asked us to refer a helical resonator paper and ARRL book(chapter 11)...
i had a doubt regarding which coaxial cable to use for connecting each helix to the feed. i am using an array of 4 helices.and to connect them i used a feed pattern which looks like +(plus) which i am going to etch on a pcb. and i want to place the helix on each terminal. But i need a specific...
Actually the cavity adds to the capacitive reactance. so we need to implement the ways to cancell out the capacitive reactance part.
so i used a strip helix. of 1mm x 8mm cross section and 1mm thickness as i read it in a paper that increaseing the crosssection would reduce the impedance. i...
hi,
I want to fabricate my design and i m getting very good s11 pattern after renormalization. The results were not satisfactory without renormalization, should i proceed with the fabrication???
