Hi,
Can somebody tell me if I need a licence to use the ds18b20 commercially, I was told that you need a licence to use the DHT11 and DHT21 temperature sensors but not the ds18b20 ?

I am about to start a project that uses a pic18f24J11 chip which is 3.3v, also I have a sim800L gsm board that is 3.3v and I believe I can connect this board directly to the micro-controller pins, however I have a 5v i2c LCD display now will the i2c line need some sort of level shifter...

No data sheet came with the floodlight, just instructions how to wire up to 230v , I have removed the 230v driver, I just have the Smd led.

Thanks for your replies, yes it is a standard 4 x 20 lcd module, the unit is a switching timeclock using a pic 16f877A chip, all this will be inside a steel enclosure with heating contactors in etc, however i would like to have a metal panel on the front of the enclosure with the lcd...

I would like to make my project separate from the display panel, does anybody know how long the ribbon cable can be ? , can I run in to problems if it is too long ? , Do I need to amplify the signals somehow ? , I only need to make it about 12 inches really.....

The circuit I am building is to alert me to a mains power failure, so I need to charge the battery from the mains voltage so that I know it is definitely going to work, thanks for the reply though...
