I got a lot of different inductor values and current rating, tried with them only to see the input current increase from 100mA to 250mA. Is there anything revealing about the problem ? When I got 250mA, inductance values I tested with include 560uH, 1mH, 680uH and 1.5mH.

Sure. I am uploading a circuit to test the both hall effect current sensor and as well high frequency current transformer.
Please comment if there is anything that I need to add or change. Another question is do we need to give a current path for the current transformer when the MOSFET is ON ?
