fluke 93
I'm in the same boat.. Not sure about yours, but on mine, there's a big 10V cap, which I suspect is for the main 5V supply. The PS squeals, and the cap never gets over about 2.5 volts. I have this ugly feeling that some custom Fluke IC is shorted internally, but I haven't noticed...
Picbasic...
After all this time, I'm still confused... MELABS sells Picbasic and Picbasic Pro. Crownhill sells Picbasic Plus, and something else (Don't remember). They seem to have different names, different features, and different version numbers. I assume they are different products. Yet...
Robots
It sounds more like you want to make a machine to stuff PC Boards. When you mention robots to a bunch of hobbyiests like us, we think of usually-impractical robots that wander around on their own. Machine vision systems for these robots is also geared towards tracking a red ball, or...
ion simulation
This isn't exactly RF, but does anyone know of software that could simulate, say, the motion of negative ions coming out of one of those air purifiers?
RF Network
If you're looking for very easy, and aren't too concerned about the price, Maxstream has some really nice RF modems. Fairly high baud rate, good range, and pretty small too. And onboard firmware handles all the tough stuff for you.
CHEAP IRDA
I've seen some of the chips by HP and Maxim that turns IRDA, at the hardware level, into something a serial port can understand. Does anyone know of a real cheap solution to do HArdware-only IRDA? I don't need any of the protocols...
Wireless network
If you don't need extreme speed, you could use one of those OEM RF Transciever modules, like the ones at Linx and Laipac. Of course, you have to figure out the networking protocols yourself, and you'll have to use some kind of encoding for reliability, like Manchester. If money...
best schematic capture
I've used OrCad, Protel, and Multisim. I was thinking of trying Multisim and Ultiboard, but was wondering what experience others have had. I'm looking for something that has a big parts database, is easy to use, and doesn't crash every 15 minutes. Is Multisim/Ultiboard a...
It looks good, but...
I thought it was pretty much what I wanted, but then I noticed it was for the 18F series. Almost! I'm using the 16F8XX series. Know of any for that series?
That's what I've heard...
But all the bootloaders I've found say they don't work with the protection bit set. Anyone know of a bootloader that works with the protection bit?
