Hey, I want to use a Rectifier diode in my circuit to half the power given to a bulb using 240~
Ideally im after 3 1N4004's (i have 3 identical seperate circuits)
my electronics store only stocks 2
will it be ok to use a 1N4005? does anyone know if the result still be the same as the 1N4004's...
Yeh im surpirse I have found many circuits like this which all claim to do exactly what I want.
I don't think I have the triac reversed... I will have to double check that but I think leg 1 is connected to GND, leg 2 connected to the (-) on the bulb and leg 3 is the gate connected directly to...
Having trouble with my triac switching circuit.
My circuit is based on the solid state relay circuit (using triacs) electronics-lab
I have tried 0.6W resistors and 2W
the 0.6 680 Ohm is fried instantly.
the 2W 680 Ohm smokes
It works with the 2W, it does switch on an off.
but its obviously...
Thank you all for your replies, its very helpful stuff.
I only need a few of these and apparently RS will only sell them in packs of 20 which is a shame.
I've also been looking at a WIMA FKP1 1250Vdc/600Vac
Here's the datasheet: www.wima.com/DE/WIMA_FKP_1.pdf
or the WIMA MP3-X2...
Hi,
I've been reading a few posts on this forum about triac switching circuits.
I am using a circuit from electronics-lab (attached)
I'm after some help as to which type of capacitor to use (pulse, suppression etc), i'm hoping someone here can help :)
I have found this for example; would this be...
