Is the common centroid method obsolete ?

Common centroid generally we do matching for current mirrors and diff pairs. Added after 42 seconds: but we dont match pmos and nmos transistors.

    Which matching pattern is better?

Matching Pattern hi Brittoo, Thanks for the explaination.. I have another doubt. If the pattern consists of two transistors with even number of fingers then we can go for good matching pattern. But what abt if we have more number of transistors with different number of fingers(either even or...

Help in matching hi can u explain what is slice, count and difference between slice and fingers

    Which matching pattern is better?

Matching Pattern Hi Brittoo, Can u explain the concept of differing of current in two branches for the pattern AABBAABB.how the current flows for the pattern ABBA ABBA.

    Layout Matching Problem

Can u explain what rules to be followed to obtain good matching like current for matched transistors should be in same direction and adding dummies. Added after 1 minutes: Also what is the reason behind the need for the current to be in the same direction?

    Beginner - Layout techniques

But in deep submicron technologies we need to take care of dfm rules also i.e., design for manufacturing rules in order to reduce the chances for chip failure. Overall we need to clean DRC,LVS,DRCA,DFM and some more checks if required.
