Re: Which linux version is proper to install IC5141 BASE only?
I've tried on many different OS.. believe me, if you want the tool to run reliably use RH4 or centos 4. currently i'm using centos 4.7 with no issues.
You may be able to install the tool on fancy os like fedora or ubuntu, but...
how to know the centos version
i dont know much about mentor/synopsys tools. but if you have plan for cadence hell noo! go for redhat 3 or 4. avoid a big mess later. i had been through !
how to solve this ?
i had all sort of these issues when i tried installing ic5.1 later i found out that its problem with some packages not getting installed. i suggest you go for a complete install of rhel4 if you could. otherwise atleast make sure that you install all glib, gcc and motif...
if you plan to run an EDA tool and would like a stable tool, go for rhel 4 or 3. even if you manage to install the tool in latest versions and other ditributions, you'll eventually face problems. if you are a pro, may be not an issue ;-)
i myself tried so many and switched to rhel 4 later.
defining bind keys in .cdsinit
hi here is an easy way. you open your layout and use the options>bindkeys from ciw
choose the layout editor as tool and click on "Display bind keys"
this will open a file with all your existing bind keys. including all your modifications.
save it as bind.il ( or...
simulation output log blanked out
hi ther,
i'm facing the same problem. it successfully netlists and prints this same error message. i cant see any output file though. i tried with only analog lib elements ( without using model file ) even in that case this error showed up.
any one solved...
you can read all the books in this world but if you want to do good layout, you need to dirty your hands on real world problems in live projects. factors affecting a layout are much more
layout is a phase just before the tape out usually, so all the pressure due to delay in design phase come to...
yeah true, just using calibre make sure nothing! it depends on the rule deck. recently i worked on some crappy rule deck for 45nm in calibre. took a few hours to find out some trivial issues ( all with rule deck )
but i strongly support calibre. the interface is very good. and its better when...
hi ther,
looks like i need to work with dracula finally ;-) i have no clue about this tool. i nver worked on it. i was wondering if ther is a way i can convert a dracula rule deck to calibre rule deck. any one ever did such a thing ther?
cheers

Hello all,
I bought a desktop with intel onboard graphics. ( Asus Vintage 3 barebone ). rhel 5.1 and 5.2 properly recognises and configures my display and graphics. but on rhel 4, i get only an 800x600 resolution. it did not properly configure my graphics. I'm no linux guru, and asus site...
ic610 licence.dat
a little more investigation shows that licence is getting checked out and in back with the same time stamp.
cdslmd message is like this on the terminal
20.45.55 (cdslmd) OUT : "Virtuoso_Schematic_Editor_L" pvnk@localhost.localdomain
20.45.55 (cdslmd) IN ...
ic610 license.dat
it just says, cant get schematic L license, do you want to go for higher tiered ones, then it fails to check out any license.
error 7
unary operator expected #! /bin/bash
this may not be answer to your question, but i'd suggest using c shell for cadence. and for the lib error, when you install linux, make sure you install all libelf packages. now you may download and install libelf package. this may be tricky because of...

Hi there,
i could successfully install and run ic611 on rhel 5.2 server. now my license config utility is running through but i'm not able to access license from tool. can someone help me with this? i used an lmgrd-cdslmd setup. lmgrd runs without any errors. and lmstat -c...
