    Connecting MT8880 DTMF transceiver

Appreciate it, guys but i do know how to use the MT8880C. It's just this one case which i'll be using only the dtmf generator function of the MT8880C. The control pins are permanently set to write mode. It seems that leaving those pins opened does not give any adverse effect on the chip itself...

    Connecting MT8880 DTMF transceiver

I'm using MT8880 to generate DTMF tones only. My question is how should I terminate the IN+, IN-, GS, Vref, Est, St pins which I won't be utilizing. Thank you

Problems with SIM300 as it doesn't detect the sim card

Re: Sim300 ATE has nothing to do with module audio settings. Anyway, if I have understand you correctly, AT+SIDET=0,0 will render AT+ECHO void?

Problems with SIM300 as it doesn't detect the sim card

Re: Sim300 I always wonder what's the best setting for AT+ECHO and AT+SIDET. Can anyone guide me on this? Thanks

    SIM300 GSM connection problem

It seems like sim300 needs resetting periodically. I have encounter failed outgoing calls via sim300 in certain sites and will never recover until device reset.

switching power supply reacting to spikes

You do agree if adequate filtering capacitors were in place and the use of MOV or TVS at the input as well at the output does not give absolute protection against voltage spikes. Low voltage rail on the the circuit board do get effected and sometimes damages the MCU and perhaps other semicon. as...

switching power supply reacting to spikes

Ok. I think i know where you are heading here. LM2576 reacts quickly to changes in the input and maintains regulation at specified output. in that sense, how do we explain temporary power interruption to an embedded system running on low voltages such as 3.3V-5VDC as a direct result of a...

switching power supply reacting to spikes

Does a simple switching power supply designed using LM2576 suppresses incoming spikes or transients effectively without the need to add extra protection like TVS or MOV.

    rs485 question - broadcast data

if data were to be distributed over a distance, i don't think SPI or I2C would be suitable

    rs485 question - broadcast data

you could program the master to transmit a 'general' command and all other slaves conditioned to accept the transmission. Totally depended on how you write up your firmware.

    RS 485 and microcontroller

yes you are right. we just have to look beyond a 2-wire setup to develop a full-duplex in RS485
  12. P

    RS 485 and microcontroller

    you can't do a full duplex with RS485. those chips only allows 'one-way' traffic...something like a walkie-talkie.

    Measure DTMF level on PSTN

i do not want to know what dtmf number not do i want to know the frequency. i need a tester that could measure the power in dbm of the dtmf tones being transmitted into land-lines

    Measure DTMF level on PSTN

dtmf level Can a spectrum analyzer used to measure dtmf signal on telephone lines. will it be able to give out dbm readings for individual frequencies of a digit Or, such measurements are only meant for specific telephone line monitor/analyzer to perform?

Interfacing 5v Tx to 3.3v Rx?

it should be 6.8K paired with 10K this should you a voltage level well within the minimum-maximum specification
