Hi,
Use the unit cell boundaries conditions and put a a variable in phase angle (always in the boundaries conditions window).
Then set the port's reference to the surface of your structure.
Do a parameter sweep on angle withe the frequency solver.

Some papers used 2 microstrip line, one on each side of the ebg and they measure the transmission between them.
Other used a 50 Ohm microstrip line over the ebg and measure too the tansmission.
We have made some tests here and it's work.

I find 2 equations to plot the wavenumber:
k_TE=ω/c*√(1-η0²/Zs²)
or
1/η0 + 1/Zs = 0

if you have the S11 results you can calculate the Z and Y matrices
Results-> S parameter calculation -> Calculate Z and Y matrices.
