    PCL86 Tube substitution

Yeah the idea is to replace the PCL86 with two other tubes. I'm currently trying to calculate the new value of the cathode resistor for the 6au6 but this is proving to be somewhat mind boggling. I can't seem to really wrap my head around how to bias a pentode properly. I would really appreciate...

    PCL86 Tube substitution

Thanks for the help. Just to be sure, aside from obviously changing the heater voltage to 6.3v, a 6au6 and 12ax7 should be drop in replacements for a PCL86?

    PCL86 Tube substitution

I recently acquired a vintage spring reverb tank (gibbs 4FB2A1C), so I began to look around for a circuit to drive it and found this: . It uses a pretty specialized tube, a PCL86 which is a pentode and triode in one tube. Since I already had a couple 6AU6s and 12AX7s lying around I figured it...

    Easily variable active low-pass filter?

The problem with that circuit is that adjusting the value of R2 to modify the frequency will also alter the gain.

    Easily variable active low-pass filter?

Hmm that's an interesting idea although trasconductance op-amps don't seem to be as readily available as regular ones. Surely there must be a circuit that uses standard op-amps.

    Easily variable active low-pass filter?

Hi, I've been trying to design an active low pass filter that can have both the cutoff frequency and gain adjusted independently using single potentiometers. This is what I have come up with: Unfortunately there are several problems my design: its essentially a passive filter which is then...

    Troubleshooting triangle oscillator

Miraculously after this step it seems to work properly

    Troubleshooting triangle oscillator

I upped the 100k resistor to 500k and still get nothing.

    Troubleshooting triangle oscillator

after following your advice (albeit with 22k resistors instead of 10) I now get the same result with the tl072 that i do with the 4558 only it still doesn't oscillate. I also changed the 100k resistor for 500k. could I be missing something else?

    Troubleshooting triangle oscillator

I recently assembled this schematic on a breadboard: the circuit is powered by a 9v battery and I also have an LED connected between the output and ground and the 100k resistor is replaced by a 100k potentiometer. I have used two different op-amps in the circuit and each seems to have...

How many gates do I need?

Is 1600 gates enough for to make a blitter and vga signal generator? Because I just realized that XC9572XLs are really cheap and they integrate nicely with the rest of my design because of their 5 volt tolerance.

How many gates do I need?

I'm in the middle of designing a single board computer and there are two spots where I have decided to use an FPGA or CPLD (which one i'm not sure yet). The first application is as a video controller, this chip would have two main functions: 1) to read data from some SRAMs and generate an 256...
