well i tried simulating that and it did not work.. The grounplane has a big influence of the antenna pattern. This is because surface waves propagate on the PCB and when they encounter a discontinuinty they radiate and distorb the main antenna pattern
I have tried the following, i have designed a two half wavelength 3.5 ghz antennas with the a phase shift in the middle using a meander line, I am not sure if this can be done. Does anyone with experience of designing these antennas be able to help out....

I have been trying to design an antenna for a flip phone. the antenna is at the bottom of the phone. The flip is connected via a flexi circuit that goes through the hinge. When in open position the antenna performance in low band is very poor.. are there any tricks to help improve...
If i was to design a material material that was positioned half way on a PCB going along one end to the other. Would the current on the PCB be choked at the point where the meta-material occurred
