    [SOLVED] Monte Carlo models -doubt

Ok..so if i am designing my chip to work at only a particular temperature and well-contolled supply/other inputs, local+global montecarlo should be sufficient, right?

    [SOLVED] Monte Carlo models -doubt

Thank you for the detailed response.... So do you mean that in mcminmax, it also varies the set temperaure say set at 100 degrees between different nodes in the ckt. and the applied input voltages from the ideal sources?

    [SOLVED] Monte Carlo models -doubt

But how is this different from local and global ... I am especially concerned because the spread is much larger for mcminmax than local , global or local +global Is mcminmax the most realistic simulation for yield/spread estimation or is it just overkill?

    [SOLVED] Monte Carlo models -doubt

Hi erikl, Thanks for the reply... But I did not quite understand your explanation for mcminmax G

    [SOLVED] Monte Carlo models -doubt

Hi, I am using Cadence 6.15 and see four different types of Monte Carlo models: 1. Local 2. Global 3. Local + Global 4. mcminmax Would appreciate if somebody could give an idea what these models entail? Gaurav

Simulating switched cap converter using ideal elements

Hi, I am trying to design a switch cap DC-DC converter in Cadence (Spectre 6). I tried to use ideal switches and caps. With just an output cap, converter converged to desired value in transient simulation. When I tried to add a dc Iload in paralle to Cout (to model the loading circuitry behind...

    dataAudit eror ASSURA LVS

Hi, When I do an LVS check in ASSURA, I get an LVS clean result. But a Window pops up showing that there are 2 dataAudit errors... The log file points to two "dubious dots" in "M1 drawing".But on highlighting the place, I don't see anything ... Please help me resolve the issue ASAP...

Speeding up transient simulations in Cadence Spectre

I am doing a transient simulation for a sigma delta modulator and the simulation time required to complete is quite long. I have come across the "accelerated parallel simulation" option in cadence that could speed up the simulation but i am not aware of the process of setting up that option. I...

[SOLVED] Process parameters of particular iteration in Monte Carlo Analysis (Spectre)

I don't understand the term "b.c. and w.c. parameter sets. " ---------- Post added at 17:28 ---------- Previous post was at 16:59 ---------- ok..u mean best case and worst case ...got it now but process.scs is not for corners, it is a simple model file for the process parameters (such as tox...

[SOLVED] Process parameters of particular iteration in Monte Carlo Analysis (Spectre)

Ok...so when i open the logfile (in /psf directory) , i see it calls files like mc1-010_designParamvals.info and i see some values for process parameters there ..But if i look in the correspoding process.scs file (called from central.scs model file), i see some different parameters , but i can...

[SOLVED] Process parameters of particular iteration in Monte Carlo Analysis (Spectre)

Hi, Suppose I run a Monte Carlo analysis in Cadence Spectre (both process and mismatch) for 100 runs. Now I want to replicate the data of the 10th iteration(say) without monte Carlo analysis .How do I vary my model files to replicate the particular corner shown in Monte Carlo? That is: 1...
