Printed choke for a printed monopole antenna

Thanks again for the reply, but please note that I am looking for a PRINTED VERSION NOT A COAXIAL VERSION! I cannot implement anything which is not PCB based due to manufacturing requirement.

Printed choke for a printed monopole antenna

monopole with shielded ground You are right Biff, there has to be some current return path, which is on a coax, hopefully, the inner side of the outer coax shield. I didn't say there is no ground just there is no ground plane. I am indeed looking for some PRINTED (PCB) implementation of how to...

Printed choke for a printed monopole antenna

how to make a choke antenna Thank you Vfone for your reply. Unfortunately, this type of solution will not solve my problem, since my antenna is NOT mounted on a ground plane. Maybe I can describe what I am looking for as a way to implement a bazooka choke in a printed manner on a printed...

What is the job desription for a consultant?

Hi guys, I am heading for an interview in a communication consulting company. They asked me to know what is the "nature of consulting engineering work"? As someone who'd been working as an an RF and antenna engineer on non-consulting roles, I will appreciate any tips regarding the nature of...

Printed choke for a printed monopole antenna

bazooka choke Hi all, I am trying to design and build a PRINTED monopole antenna with no ground plane (make it a sleeve antenna). How would you make a PRINTED sleeve choke? I am making the transmission line a strip line, but it seems that just adding two lines quarter wavelength long to act as...

    shorting of microstrip patch

Do you mean where to connect the chip resistor? Can you explain a bit more what do you need? If I understand right you want to connect a chip resistor in parallel to the feed but in a different location. You should create another probe port. Simulate the structure with two ports. Then in MODUA...

Radar antenna feeding question( with photo)

Hi bkd, Note that the dipoles are fed at their end, which means, that the input impedance is much higher. You probably need to simulate to find out a close value for the input impedance.

"General prototype Network Synthesis method for..&a

Looking for a paper Hi all, I am looking for: General prototype Network Synthesis method for microwave filters. ESA Journal vol.6, pp 196-206, 1982 by Richard Cameron. If any of you happen to have it or know where I can see it I will appreciate it. Thanks, Ori

Radar antenna feeding question( with photo)

Hi bkd, Azulykit seems to be right. It looks like a dipole array above a ground plane. the interesting thing about the design is that the dipoles are actually one solid "T" which you can do if the separation from the ground plane is quarter of the operation wavelength. This turns the middle of...

How to broaden PIFA multiple band bandwidth?

Hi Poey, You might want to tune the antenna to a lower impedance than 50 ohm, get a "small circle" on the Smith Chart, which you can than move to the 50 ohm with a simple matching circuit. It will probably work for only on frequency, unless if you are using multiple feeds for different frequencies.

    coupling between antennas

Hi, I can't tell you how far away the antennas have to be to get what you want, but I can tell you for sure that once you get them too close, i.e. one in each others near field, about few wavelengths or less, you will start seeing a definitive change in the impedance and in the radiation...

Coupling matrix and unloaded Q in filter design

coupling matrix Hello RF expert! I am writing a Matlab code for my project which is used to implement a coupling matrix for filter design. The code is also supposed to implement the effects of unloaded Q on the frequency response. So far I couldn't find any published way of introducing...

    coupling coefficients in filter design

interdigital filter design software I have been using Mician Wizard and it seems to be quite good Added after 1 hours 10 minutes: Hi guys, I will appreciate if anyone who does have an access to a next door engineering library could post Cristal's paper: E.G. Cristal “Capacity Coupling...

mician combline filter Hi All, Does anyone know if you can design combline filter in mician with tuning screws that go into the posts? Thanks

designing dual frequency antenna for gps

Re: designing gps antenna Unless you are using the antenna for military applications or in a super-accurate surveying system you will only need L1 1575 MHz. it is right hand circulary polarized. As othere replies mentioned, patch antenna is probably the best solution you can have for a...
