Now I have another question.
If I wanna build a PCB to control a motor and 2 different sensors, do I need 3 CAN transceivers and 3 CAN controllers to control these three things in my PCB??
Hi All,
I am new to CAN and CANbus.
If I want to build a system to connect to a CANbus, do I need CANopen protocol??
(The system may have a microcontroller/FPGA chip, CAN transceiver and motor......I don't know if I need to add more components.)
Hi All,
I would like design a CANbus system to control some sensors and motors, but I am not familiar with CAN.
So far I know I will use CANopen protocol, and if I choose to use a FPGA chip I can use VHDL to programme it, if I use a microchip I can use C/C++ to programme it.
I am wondering if...
Hi All,
I used Visual Studio 2008 to write some C++ code.
However, the following one has a problem.
"dcb.Parity = EVEN;"
I am prety sure this one is alright.
It was alright.
For some reason, I used another computer to compile it, and it keeps appearing "error C2065".
I am wondering if I have to...
Re: Question about coaxial cables & screened twisted pai
Yes, LEMO connectors, it's a good idea.
I didn't think about it.
For the length of the cable, your suggestion is 50 cm. Did you mean the longest one I can get from shops is 50cm??
Re: Question about coaxial cables & screened twisted pai
I will use differential signals (Two signals, 180-degree-phase difference).
I just have BNC connectors.
However, I think I shouldn't use BNC connectors for the screened twisted pair cables.
Re: Question about coaxial cables & screened twisted pai
I know normally we use BNC/SMA/SMB/SMC connectors for the coaxial cables.
So, what kind of connectors are used on the screened twisted pair cable???
Re: Question about coaxial cables & screened twisted pai
Hi Karesz, the length of the cable will be around 2 meters.
Hi biff44, I don't understand what did you mean "balanced" & "unbalanced". For the "balanced", does it mean that for example, I have two signals and they have a 180-degree phase...
Dear all,
My signal is 10MHz.
Normally we use coaxial cables for the high frequency transmission.
However, my friend told me I can use screened twisted pair cables.
In my opinion, screened twisted pair cables won't give me good quality signal.
I am wondering if it's right??
Dear all,
I thought PCs just can read ASCII data, but someone told me that PCs can read binary data directly from an USB or COM port.
If it's ture, that means I don't need to build a binary-to-ASCII converter in the FPGA, and send binary data to a PC directly.

Re: How to get a squre wave
Hi karesz,
My signal is 10MHz.
I haven't put any load on the IC's output.
I read your attached file. It shows to apply a load capacitor.
Do you think if it's alright to put a 1nF capacitor for my output??
My input signal is from FPGA. I don't think the quality of...
