Linear antenna array problem about spacing between elements

Re: Linaer array problem Hi Chachito, I am aware of equation you wrote. (Balanis's book around 330th page). On next page there is graph from which is possible to anticipate that spacing must be between λ/2 and 3λ/4. Anyway, thank you for your time. Best regards, Dejan

Linear antenna array problem about spacing between elements

Hi guys, I am new to antenna design and currently enrolled at antenna course. From my professor, I get this problem to solve. Find spacing between elements of linear antenna array with binomial current distribution in order to achieve max possible gain with sidelobe level lesser then 30 dB...

How to transfer layout from MWO to Protel

Hi. I have following problem: I desing circuit and layout in MWO 2006, but i must design PCB file. How to transfer layout to Altium 2004? Thx in advance, Dejan

    PRM file extension problem

Hi, i have following problem: I have .prm file from the wendor and i need to import it into MWO 7? There is not support for that file type in MWO, so how to convert it in some type which may be imported in MWO? Thanks, Dejan

What is the MER parameter in RF systems?

Re: MER [hlp] Well, if we assume that SNR is a baseband measurement, there really is no practical way to measure baseband data SNR. A better parameter is modulation error ratio (MER), which is analogous to baseband SNR. MER takes into account the combined effects of CNR; transmitter...

Why do we use VCO and not fixed frequency oscillator?

Re: Why use VCO? I don't understand you, know. But i think Old Nick's answer is Ok.

Difference b/w magnetron oscillator and klystron Oscillator

Re: Difference b/w magnetron oscillator and klystron Oscilla Well, i am not sure that i understood you correctly (what do you mean with " doing microwave experiments), but i' ll try to answer you. Magnetron is capable to deliver more power then reflexive klystron or gunn diode. Reflexive...

    highest RF frequency?

Well, i know for radars that working in Ka band (nearly 40GHz). There are type of rf tubes called Gyrotron which are capable to deliver continuous power over 1kw on frequencies over 300ghz. For similar purposes there are also reflexive triode. For semiconductor devices, there are MHEMTs capable...

High frequency diode - RF flow in both directions?

Re: High frequency diode Yes, it may flow in both directions UNTIL diode is forward biased. Note that when pin diode is forward biased it acts like dynamic resistor, which resistance is inverted proportional to biasing current. Pin diode may be shown as parallel junction of capacitor and...

Which tool is your first choice for RF design? ADS or Spectr

Re: Which tool is your first choice for RF design? ADS or Sp Well, I try MWO and i am very satisfied. I did not try any other tool.

    cross polarization & co polarization

what is cross polarization linear polarization or plane polarization of electromagnetic radiation is a confinement of the electric field vector or magnetic field vector to a given plane along the direction of propagation. Cross polarization is polarization which vector is moved for 90°...

    Parabolic Antenna pattern [hlp]

OK, but i' m dealing with radars, so reference covers radar antennas. (also and some basic terms) Merril I. Sklonik: Radar Handbook 2nd ed., McGraw - Hill. inc, 1990. Chapter 6 covers antennas and chapter 7 covers phased antennas arrays. It is little older book, but it is very good.

    feed of antenna [hlp]

Well, i found this article on the net and i hope it may help you.

    Parabolic Antenna pattern [hlp]

Yes. Pattern depends of both, reflector and the feed.
