    Xilinx DCM Post-Route Simulation Problem

mrflibble- yes, the phase changes as expected in post-P&R sim in variable phase shift mode.

    Xilinx DCM Post-Route Simulation Problem

OK well I figured out the answer, and it involves me being an idiot. :) The behavioral sim does not show any phase difference between CLKIN and CLK0 because the DCM has no delays for which to compensate. The post-route sim, on the other hand, shows what appears to be CLKIN and CLK0 out of phase...

    Xilinx DCM Post-Route Simulation Problem

mrflibble- well that's the thing. I am using variable phase shift mode. In that mode, you can set an initial phase shift and then increment/decrement by one unit of phase shift from there. I was under the impression that, since this mode still uses feedback, once the DLL locks, if initial phase...

    Xilinx DCM Post-Route Simulation Problem

Hi mrfibble- this is the same ol' 9.1i SP3 we spoke about earlier (last version to support all features of V2P/ML310, 10.1i is more limited). I am using the Variable Phase Shift feature on the DCM in the Virtex-II Pro. DCM documentation states that, in this mode, you can adjust the phase shift...

    Xilinx DCM Post-Route Simulation Problem

I am attempting to perform a post-route simulation on a design containing a Xilinx DCM on a Virtex-II Pro used in Variable Phase Shift mode. In behavioral simulation, when the DCM first locks and no phase shift is applied, the reference clock (clkin) and the clk0 (clkfb) of the DCM are in...

    iMPACT Access Permission Problem

Yes. The first time. Ok so this is odd... 1. I tried renaming it .Xilinx_GO_AWAY and it did not work (crashed* before I could create or choose a project) 2. I tried renaming it .OLD and impact launched and allowed me to create / choose a project without crashing beforehand 3. Rebooted and tried...

    iMPACT Access Permission Problem

Thanks! Now we're getting somewhere! Oddly, when I renamed the directory as you suggested (.Xilinx_GO_AWAY), it did not change the problem. However, when I renamed it .OLD, it worked! Just a few more kinks to figure out...will keep you posted if you're not fed up with me yet. :)

    iMPACT Access Permission Problem

Oh OK if I'm understanding this correctly you're just saying I should start impact from my project directory. I am already doing this, but it is somehow looking in "/" (root directory) anyway and then quitting. XILINX_EDK=/opt/EDK91i_32 XILINX=/opt/Xilinx91i_32

    iMPACT Access Permission Problem

mrflibble- ok finally got around to trying this and realized I don't know how to start impact from the command line with the CWD option and I don't see it in the "usage" description. Can you give me an example of how it would be used?

Xilinx ML310 EDK Base Design Problem

bigdog- thanks for the response. The files from the link I provided are not design files. They consist of a PDF describing how to build a project from scratch all the way to interacting with it on the board, along with UCF and MHS updates. Would really like to figure out why this isn't working...

    iMPACT Access Permission Problem

mrflibble- thanks for the response! Yup Yup Ah-hah! I'm assuming this will set the project directory it starts up in? If so, this looks like it might fix my problem- will try it and let you know. Linux (stated in first post).

Xilinx ML310 EDK Base Design Problem

bigdogguru and aruipksni- thanks for your responses. aruipksni- please see below, I think this responds to your suggestion, as well: bigdog- I'm not sure why 6.X vs. 9.X would make a difference. I am building the base design from the instructions in the PDF. On this page you'll see these...

    command line. Any ideas there?

    iMPACT Access Permission Problem

aruipksni- thanks for the response. I've run it from superuser, but the problem is that it works for superuser, but it does not change my situation when I use it as my regular user. That is, I cannot seem to change the default directory for my regular user via superuser or regular user. Any ideas?
