Fuse resistor with MOV for surge protection

what is the difference between below 2 circuits which is for surge protection. 1. Fuse Resistor before MOV 2. Fuse Resistor after MOV

[SOLVED] Voltage follower with Current Sinking

Input is Variable frequency. it is solved. Isolating the ground with a star point solved the issue.

[SOLVED] Voltage follower with Current Sinking

Hi, The Opamp NI pin is not left floating. The complete application circuit is given here. The objective is to DIM the Led Light Intensity by controlling the Led Driver D+ and D- pins. Here a PWM signal is generated from the uC. That signal is converted into a voltage with reference to...

[SOLVED] Voltage follower with Current Sinking

Hi, I designed a voltage follower with current sinking circuit. The schematic is attached here Here there are 2 sources. One is for opamp operation. And the other is 11V@150uA source (say a led dimmer). The objective is to sink the current in the 11v source and bring down the voltage, so that...

Metal Oxide Varistor Failure Without Fuse

Hi Barry, Thanks for your reply.. Some times when the MOV connected parallel to AC line and neutral fails it does not allow any current to the circuit. But once it is replaced the circuit behaves normal. Rgards, Mokthar

Metal Oxide Varistor Failure Without Fuse

Hi, I am using Metal Oxide varistor in parallel with application circuit, with out fuse. If the MOV fails due to aging what happens to my crcuit? Will it pass the current to the circuit or the circuit also gets damaged due to shorting?

Uart Communication using Opto Coupler for isolating RF Controller with Metering Chip

Here the baud rate is 4800 bps. is there i need to work out on my resistor values? If so where did i made a mistake? With Regards, Mokthar

Uart Communication using Opto Coupler for isolating RF Controller with Metering Chip

Hi Andre, The circuitry connected with it is attached here. There are 2 circuits one with digital isolator which works fine. Other is with opto where i have problem in communication. On both sides i have connected with Tx and Rx pins. With Regards, Mokthar

Uart Communication using Opto Coupler for isolating RF Controller with Metering Chip

Hi, Iam trying to isolate uart communication between Metering mcu and RF mcu. I tried with 2 different way. one i used Analog Digitals Digital Isolator. There is no issue while communicating with that. Then the other using Optocoupler PC817 it works for first few cycles and there is no...

how to stop smsps working when there is no neutral?

Yes u r correct. The smps load is balanced. When the phase sense circuit comprising capacitive power supply is used with smps it goes unbalanced. At this point if my neutral wire is disconnected or goes fault. Some voltage builds across the neutral with return current from capacitive supply...

how to stop smsps working when there is no neutral?

Hi, I have Designed a 3phase 4wire smps with neutral. The output of the SMPS is 12v 1Amps. When there is no neutral i want my smps output to go off. I achieved this by altering the diode bridge rectifier arrangement. But there is a capacitive power supply that shares the input of 3phase...

the output load is oscillating in flyback smps

yes u r right.. If i connect the load after powering up the SMPS i found no issues. But when it is powered on with the load connected it goes oscillating. About increasing the capacitor to 10uF, will look into dat.
