Once i have learned from it for 8088 and 8086 etc
i have written key pad and lcd codelock in Keil C 8051 and if you need that i can give you the code schematic is easy if you read the code.
controller was AT89c51 and at 11.0592 MHz.

book? I dont know. but datasheets for hitachi alphanumeric lcd are available.
I can give my work of codelock using Keil Compiler for 8051.
