    You could do with a power analyser. They tend to measure it all for you. Ideally the power factor would be 1.0 both volts and current are in sync.

    The origanal distance was approx 0.5 mm. Will it damage anything if a NO one is the wrong function.

    I have found out it is a 14.5 v inductive PNP senser. Now it's just how do i find out if it is NO or NC and if I fit the wrong one will it damage anything? Mark
