Once the pedestal is removed, pry apart at the bottom edge (this will mare slightly and be less visible there) the front and back of case by lifting the overlapping edge. Once it unclips, continu to unclip toward each corner then up the sides. It unsnaps quite loudly but rarely breaks.
Hi, if you have access to used toasters, the mechanism that controls toast movement is a timer with magnetic release. When the toast is ready (timed) the magnet deactivates and releases the latch. A spring lifts the toast. It has potential.
