mixer question, mixing a high and low freq component.

mmm unfortunately I was too optimistic, when I zoomed in the recovered signal at the downconversion side, I recognized it is AM modulated with a tone of approximately 250 Hz frequency and ~20 mVpp. The fact that this is approx a multiple of 50 Hz is very suspicious. At the 5v on the down...

mixer question, mixing a high and low freq component.

I believe I solved this, basically the two VCOs where delivering slightly different frequencies. By fine tunning the one at the downconversion side though its Vtune line, the two side bands consolidated into only one tone at the desired frequency. br

mixer question, mixing a high and low freq component.

thx for the replies, so basically to give a clearer picture I am attaching an image. Checking the output of the down converted signals with SA, instead of one tone at 50 MHz, what I see is two tones, centered at 50 MHz. Distance between 50 MHz and each tone is approximately 600KHz. I ll...

mixer question, mixing a high and low freq component.

Hi there, I am down converting with an active mixer a modulated signal at 2.9 GHz using an LO of the same frequency, the outcome should be in theory a sine of 50 MHz. (I know this was the original IF data) On the bench I see this sine at the output of the mixer, but issue is I see a high level...

Help: problem about input match of the LNA between the large and low input signal

Which is the IIP1db of your LNA? You should try to stay far by 10 db to make sure is linear regime. In that area, your s-parameters should be valid.

IP2 point extrapolated from IP3 point

Hi, just researching about this point myself and it does not seem possible from the docs I found. Only found this paper, http://www.signalpro.biz/pointsf1.pdf Where they show below rule of thumb IP2 = 1dBCP + 27 dB ( sigma = 8.1 dB) However I d not trust it, there is also a similar rule of...

    cascade s-parameters inside ADS

So basically I can do as per attached as many times as required? I mean each s2p file should see 50 ohms, correct? This is the way it has been measured, in that case, how to manage the union between first and second stage? I am trying to find a fast way to have a glance to the response of two...

    cascade s-parameters inside ADS

Is it possible to cascade 2 or more s2p files inside ADS to see overall response? If yes, which would be the tool. Thx

LC shunt Notch filter for 1820 MHz, BW 30 MHz and IL of around -20/30

Hi, I am trying to carry out an LC shunt Notch filter for 1820 MHz, BW 30 MHz and IL of around -20/30 to have it at the output of a PA to suppress some harmonics. When I try some configurations on ADS with lumped components, looks possible, when I switch to real components with real...

    Minimum transmitter and receiver distance

is the CC2400 Power amplifier working in the linear region?Sufficiently back off from 0 dbm which seems to be the max Pout.... if this, it should discard linearity effects at the Tx....then we ll need to focus only on the receiver.

LTE Dual Band Filter using ADS for 800Mhz and 1800Mhz

Is this for below bands LTE bands, right? B2 1850-1910 / 1930-1990 B5 824-849 / 869-894 This is an area where I struggle to find available duplexers......

select VHF low noise amplifier transistor

you may consider a MMIC like MGA-62563 instead.

Suggest some 1W transmitter modules at 433MHz with noise figure less than 3dB

this could be an alternative if you can accept a little bit less Pout, MGA-30116 br

What transistor to use for RF LNA at 400MHz

if this will ever arrive to a PCB for real measurements, the very first point to start are the s-parameters from the manufacturer. However, if it is only for modeling purposes, that relaxes everything quite a bit.
