To be able to do this you need to have Allegro license. Unfortunately, lower licenses will not work.

Are you sure you are using OrCAD 17? Because version 17 of OrCAD is an Early Adopter Program (EAP) release, it is not available just for selected companies. It will be available for everyone in early 2016.
So you will hardly ever find book from OrCAD 17 now...
Hi,
Try to use Orcad's own logo import feature:
-Convert your logo to black&white BMP format
-Create new mechanical symbol
-File -> Import -> Logo
