transformer hfss
tompson,
To my experience, HFSS cannot solve such a complex structure. Even if it can succeed in the initial mesh, It cannot reach the accuracy in the adaptive passes.
I have tried a much simpler structure (also a transformer) and HFSS resulted in "out of memory". My computer...
cadence spectre ssd
hi,
spectre is much better in RF circuit simulation. It covers almost all your need in RF analysis such as the S-parameter, Noise, 1dB-compression, IIP3, etc..., concerning RF design. In hspice, it is quite inconvenient or even infeasible to do these analysis.
In general...
hfss batchsolve
HFSS support VB script. You can record and save your any operation to a VBS file.
Then you open it and add your script such as open a project, run analysis, and close the project and open another...
The above method may fit your need. But I prefer you download a matlab package...
Hi, GoaGosha and Ruri,
Thanks very much for your quick reply.
GoaGosha, I agree with you with you that in HFSS we cannot do a stand alone simulation without parasitics. When I set the ground ring small, the simulated inductance is about 10% smaller than expected. And after I enlarged the...
Hi, every one,
When simulating inductors in HFSS, there is a ground ring surrounding the inductor, providing a return loop for the ports. This ground ring is required especially when the two ports are placed in different side.
I found that the result is very sensitive to the size of the ground...
boy and STOIKOV, thank you for your replies.
STOIKOV,
in your circuit, do you short one of the RF port by a capacitor? Then how do you consider the impedance matching on that port? Does it degrade the performace? I think I should read that book first.
boy,
I visited the website and I wonder...
I am a newbie in RF circuit, and I am required to design a double balanced mixer for research. The RF frequency is about 17 GHz.
The question is is how to measure the mixer. Since all signals (RF, LO, IF) are differential, should I
1. convert both the input signals (RF, LO) from unbalanced...
