Re: PML in matlab
There are many FDTD codes in C (including Berenger's PML) in the book of D. Sullivan
Electromagnetic Simulation Using the FDTD Method, Wiley-IEEE Press, 2000.
matlab versus c++ for data storage
hi,
I think the best way is one to start programming with MATLAB and
after passing to C/C++ (if the computation time is critical). MATLAB is
by far the most flexible and effective technical language.
hi,
there is code (in C) for the 3D FDTD method in the book : "Electromagnetic simulation using the FDTD method" by D. Sullivan. You can download it from the EDAboard foum.

Re: Remcom XFDTD examples
The examples of previous versions of the XFDTD (like version 5) can be used (with slight modifications) in version 6.
Also, I ve noticed a bug in version 6.0 : It is impossible to apply Perfectly matched layers as absorbing boundary conditions.

microstrip antenna l= lambda/2 why
hi,
Can you give us a more detailed description of your antenna design?
Have you tested your antenna with some numerical method (i.e. FDTD) or any microwave CAD software? Maybe you measure a higher mode.

unsplit pml
Perfectly Matched Layers, first introduced by Berenger, are used to truncate the computational domains of several finite methods (like FDTD) in electromagnetics and fluid mechanics. The original PML of Berenger is
split field. Unsplit field PMLs are introduced by other researchers...
