Thanks for the reply. So you are basically saying there is no 100% way of detecting dry joint on a BGA package? What about those 2D or 3D X-Ray? Does those things equipment exist to detect dry joint, especially those in the middle of the component and not at the side? (hidden from view)
Thank you.
Hi all,
Most of our boards uses FPGA, ASICS and Processors in BGA package which may have about 900 pins each.
What is the usual method that is used to detect for dry joint on these BGA?
I am searching high and low for such a capability but to no avail. Our PCBA supplier wants nothing to do...
Hi Keith,
So that means a typical Digital scope samples signal at several different frequencies? Is the different frequencies determine by my setting of the time division? All the while I thought that the scope samples at a fixed sampling rate and the time division setting is just view...
Dear all,
I have several measurement equipment that provides 10MHz reference signal output. When I connect this signal into the oscilloscope, I detected two signals. One is the actual 10MHz and another a 20Hz signal. Both this signal are clean sine wave. Why is this so? In my limited knowledge...
Dear FvM,
You are right, just checked the website and they have extensive application notes which we can use according to the power consumption.
I believe with the application note, a power supply can be designed. The question now is where to obtain the required transformer according to the...
Dear all,
I need to design the above cc to power my board. I have on hand an old TNY278 circuit, but the datasheet has not been too helpful in assisting inexperience ppl like to to select the components (specifically the transformer).
My questions -
1. Is the TNY278 still being used...
Thank you all for the reply. Will take note and decide on the relevant changes in design. Have been having issues accessing edaboard these few days...
Anyway, temporary, we are studying on using XTR111. This chip seems to be more suitable for multichannel transmitter.
Thank you.

xtr117 problem
Hi all,
Having some problem designing multiple channel of 4-20mA transmitter. We would like to design a card that will provide 3 channels of 4-20mA transmitter that are independent of each other using XTR117. But based on the equivalent diagram provided by the datasheet, we...
mt8870 pic
Hi,
what kind of help do you need? is it transfer to the pic or that your reading timing is not correct? Pls be specific of your problem and try to isolate your problem. This would give yourself a better picture.
You mention you can decode, then is your problem occurs in receiving...
trhe best microcontroller
All microcontrollers are good starting point.
It could be a PIC16F84 because you can built the programmer in less than an hour, and then write a simple led running light program in another hour which really gives you a good feeling of how things work and a great...
at89isp pcb
Hi all,
I have some information. For those of u using AEC_ISP file and use the cable configuration, please be reminded that it will NOT WORK with any cable longer than 1.5 feet!
This can be very subjective, but i have constructed 4 units of the said ISP and connect it to...
Hi all,
why must people interpret lower instructions as better and easier? to me, more instructions means more tools to do a particular work, well, at least one has the choice of not using the 200 - 35 = 165 instructions and do everything in the familiar 35 instructions.
i have use both pic...
Hi picstudent,
i guess by now, you would have so many ideas and wondering which is the best. I am not going to add to any of these. But i need to comment on this -
1. To get precise timing, use Assembly. you can still use C, but for the timer initialisation and timer interrupt routine, use...
