Why Current sensor to be placed in Positive Rail for DC current measurement?

Hello Mr. Fvm, Question is simple. For any current sensing circuit using Hall effect sensor, All most all designers choose to put current sensor in +ve rail not on the Return Path (-Ve). Still you did't get my question?

Why Current sensor to be placed in Positive Rail for DC current measurement?

LOL!! One expert from TI (Texas Instruments) asked this question to me. He knew answer for this. But he didn't tell me answer. But i am trying to find answer. It may be due to small potential difference occur due to very small amount of resistor used in any current sensor inside. Or due to...

Why Current sensor to be placed in Positive Rail for DC current measurement?

NO dear friend, There is some disadvantage implementing the current sensing in Return Path.

    sheld wire grounding issue

Hi, Shield to be connected to the center part of 3 pin power socket. Not on the Return path of the Power Supply (SMPS). If your SMPS is a separate Box, you can connect shield to Body of the SMPS in mating connectors Hood.

using capacitor across mosfet VGS ?!!

IR2110 works on the principle of Boost strap mechanism. Continuous power available for Low side mosfets drive. Where as for HIGH side drive, this capacitor will be act as source for the small duration, based on PWM ON time duration. But for that too, capacitor will not be placed in the VGS, on...

Why Current sensor to be placed in Positive Rail for DC current measurement?

I am using ACS709 (Hall Effect) current sensor for measuring DC link current for BLDC motor. Is it mandatory that, Current sensors to be placed in the Positive Rail? Why NOT Return path. Any disadvantage?

[SOLVED] Why resistor is used @ feedback?

Hi Guys, The Advantage of Resistor (Rf) in feedback path is as follows, 1) If input signal is Large scale (> 1V), Pulsating at HIGH frequency, and if NO Rf is used, you can see, Output voltage waveform is distorted during rising edge. This is because, During fast feedthrough of output to...

How to Estimate Duty cycle of given pulse

max. peak to peak ripple is 80mV. Which disturbs the hysterisis set for Comparator. Required excess duty cycle measurement is 20%. frequency shall vary from 1kHz to 20kHz.

How to Estimate Duty cycle of given pulse

Hi, I tried by averaging using simple RC network with very low cut-off frequency. But the problem i am facing in the hysterises band due to ripple in 5V supply. The voltage voltage difference for duty cycle bandwidth is much lesser. So, circuit doesn't work. I am looking for circuit with some...

How to Estimate Duty cycle of given pulse

Hi friends, I want to find the Duty cycle of incoming pulse in terms of voltage. The frequency of pulse shall change at any given time in this case. Then how to find the Dutycycle in terms of voltage ranges from (0 - 5)V.

What is Difference between in Ripple voltage and Droop voltage in the power supply ?

Hi everyone... I want to design a power supply with output 1kV. The load acting at the power supply output is at 5kHz (with 20% duty cycle). Mosfter switching frequency for the converter is 100kHz. Here, which frequency is consider for ripple frequency? Is 5KHz or 100KHz ?

How to find common mode voltage in RS-422 Communication Line

Hi.. Can anyone tell me, how to estimate the common mode voltage in a RS-422 Interface Line? For a standard RS-422 Interface, The differential voltage level is ± 6V. The alowable common mode voltage is ±7V. What does it mean? If There is no disturbance or transient occur in the...

    bldc motor controller

Few days back i found APEX PRECISION POWER(SA01 - 08 Series) has PMW amplifiers, that has in-built drivers with H-bridge. you please go through them. there you can also control it through FPGA. Good Luck Best Regards Anand
