ADS momentum output to touchstone (*.sNp) file?

ads agilent snp 1. You can do it either from schematic or data display window. Select "Tools -> Data File Tool" from the menu, a data file window will pop-up; then choose write data file from dataset; specify filename and file format as touchstone; select the dataset you want to export. 2. You...

    ADS simulation equation fuction

@DS simulation equation fuction freq and Z11 are arrays. And Z11=Z(1,1). Z11[0] means Z11[frequnecy_index=0] So the first equation will give C_Varactor values at frequency index 0, which is, the start frequency of the your simulation. The second equation will return an arrary of C_Varactor...

How to Use ADS to simulate op amplifier?

I checked you ads file. It looks like you were confused by the pin number of the subcircuit. The correct order should be Symbol pin# Name Subcircuit Name ---------------------------------------------------------------- pin1 in+...

Whats the difference between short and open circuit model?

@DS using help In the case of short circuit model, the RF device will use the input impedance of the next stage as its load. In the case of open circuit model, the device is isolated from the next stage, however, the signal still goes through. The input impedance of the next stage won't affect...

Is there any IC for CDMA2000 Power detect?

Maxim has a small device MAX2205/2208 series which can be used for power detect. The PA output signal can go through a 15~20dB directional coupler and then feed into the power detector IC.

need schematics for Mobile Phone SIEMENS S25

You can find S25 service manual h**p://www.exit99.cz/s25/servis/sm_s25vl2_v11.zip and repair doc h**p://www.exit99.cz/s25/servis/sm_c25_lvl_25_v12.zip Unfortunately, the schematic is missing. One of the above files is encrpyted by MS-WORD, but it can be open as read-only.

How to estimate the talktime of a GSM or CDMA mobile?

Re: gsm-cdma talktime For CDMA talk time, you can find the formula in CDG-4 document. I just copy some infor here for calculating current, then you can find the talk time based on the battery capacity. (1) IS-95 Mobile spends most of its time at an average power of ~-8 dBm for urban and ~-2...

    50 ohms in multilayer board

It is very common to clean the copper below the 50ohm trace. For example, 50ohm trace on the top (layer 1), clean the copper on layer 2 just below the trace (not necessary for the whole layer), and make layer 3 as ground. It will result a wider trace which will give lower loss.

    Viewing ADS layout in Orcad

You can export/import DXF file between ADS and Orcad.

What's the difference between AGC and ALC?

agc vs alc My understanding is that AGC refers to receiver and ALC refers to transmitter. An AGC amplifier (usually in IF stage) maintains a constant output level while the input receiving signal varies across a very wide dynamic range. An ALC normally has a known input signal level and it...

CDMA or WCDMA PA TX sequence

wcdma pa For CDMA cell phone, normally PA_VCC is always on, but TX_VCC is not always ON. According to Qualcomm, two signals, IDLE_N and PA_ON control the power states of the TX circuitry. PA_ON is used to turn on/off the PA and IDLE_N to turn on/off other TX circuitry. PA_ON goes to HIGH...

How to use the OSCport in OSC design?

OscPort The ADS OscPort model for HB analysis is based on the Nyquist stability test critetion, which is described in "Microwave Transistor Amplifiers, Analysis and Design, 2nd Ed, G. Gonzalez", chapter 5, section 2. The idea is measuring the close-loop gain and phase to determine the...

    question about sub-harmonic mixer

Pros 1. alleviate LO self-mixing (help DC offset to some extent) 2. resolve LO leakage to antenna problem 3. lower freq VCO and buffer could be realised at lower cost Cons 1. high order harmonics and mixing products (out-of-band spurs) 2. some circuit architecture may result higher...

how to measure the mismatch between I and Q in receiver

If you meant the I/Q gain imbalance and phase imbalance, just inject a single carrier at the RF input and observe the I/Q output with a good digital oscilloscope, which can easily give the gain and phase imbalance readings.
