Problem with footprints in Multisim trial version

Hi, I have downloaded a time trial version of Multisim simulation software as advised by forum members but it's blowing me over a bit. I can't seem to progress because the software 'Footprints' of many devices are unfamiliar to me. To save you downloading a large JPG picture image I've put a...

Help me answer questions about 555 circuit resonance

Circuit resonance Thank you once again for your valueable help, it is very much appreciated. I hope that in the future, when my knowledge of electronics has matured, I will be able to help others as you have helped me. Kindest regards, John in the UK

Help me answer questions about 555 circuit resonance

Circuit resonance Thanks for your reply, on the basis of your responce am I correct in saying that if an oscilloscope was placed across the inductor coil it would show square waves in a parallel L & C configuration? Would this still be the same waveform if inductor (L) and capacitor (C) were at...

Help me answer questions about 555 circuit resonance

Hi, I've posted a basic circuit on my NTL homepage and need some help with it. Would a forum member take a look and maybe help answer my questions on the webpage. Here's the link: **broken link removed** Many thanks, I'm a novice on electronis but trying to learn a little each day. John

    Can transistors replace this circuit

Hi IanP, You have really excelled here, words of thanks seem inadequate, but many thanks anyway. I truly hope that I will be able to help others too when my knowledge of electronics develops. Kindest regards, John

    Can transistors replace this circuit

Hi IanP, This is the full circuit I got the above configuration from. Yes, the original does change the polarity each time the relay is activated by the 555 pulse. What I need is to maintain this same action, ie polarity changing, but I really need to do away with the relay to save on battery...

    Can transistors replace this circuit

Thanks funster, I only have one battery supply of 27 volts and replacing the relay is my main task. I suppose if all else fails and I don't get any other feedback from the forum members I will have to adopt your suggestion. Thanks again, John

    Can transistors replace this circuit

Hi guys, This may seem a somewhat naive request, but I'm just learning electronics. Can this circuit be changed to use semi conductors; preferably transistors because I have some of these? I need the output to swing alternatively from positive 27v to negative 27v when driven by the square input...

    Circuit review needed

Thanks a million for your speedy reply. I get the drift by using diodes across the LED's. Will the LM358 dual op-Amp operate as an oscillator in the configuration shown and as described in the authors supplied text? I can't seem to get any oscilloscope output when simulating the schemetic in my...

    Circuit review needed

Hi guys, I think I previously put this request in the wrong forum so I replace it here. Basically I found this circuit on the web with an added description of how it works. However, being very new to electronics I can't understand exactly how the two back to back zener diodes come into the...

    Circuit explanation needed

Hi guys, Found this circuit on the web with an added description of how it works. However, being very new to electronics I can't understand exactly how the two back to back zener diodes come into the equation to make the bi-color diode flash. The bi-color diodes I own have three leads, A1 + A2...
