For near field pattern, please refer to ricy's post. For radiation pattern, after you compute the Far-field Data, you should have files such as
projectname.tvp0.tb0.te360.in5, etc. It was organized as
#angle Ephi mag Etheta mag Ephi phase Etheta phase
hfss near field far field transformation
Attached is some slides from Ansoft regarding "Perfectly Matched Layers &
Linked Boundary Conditions".
Hope it helps a little.
Good link! If it's your ftp site, try to zip the file using winrar instead of winzip, that will save pretty much space! For example, HFSSbook in rar is only 14MB, while 43MB in zip.
XFDTD gives you the radiated power and antenna efficiency information under "Steady State" slide. In order to get right radiated power, you have to change the excitation voltage accordingly.
Of course HFSS can do the job. Just keep in mind that HFSS normalizes the input power to 1W.
Usually, the plastic bracket will affect tje antenna resonanct frequency a few percentage, depending on how much brackets used and where they are positioned. This offset have to be considered when designing the antenna.
Does anyone have 3D cell phone models used for EM simulation? These with internal PIFA or patch antenna are the most wanted. It could be of any CAD format. Thank you!
