hex 4550 no mclr
Hi again,
No I did not make any changes other than adding a 10k pull-up resistor on the 4550's MCLR, but this does not seem to be your problem:(
I hate to ask the obvious but are you sure that there are no problems with your PCB (tracks shorting, etc). Are you sure the 877A...
icd0286 icd2 silicon
Hi,
I used the firmware from this site:
http://www.icd2clone.com/wiki/Main_Page
Click on the "Firmwares" link at the bottom of the page--The zip contains the firmware for the 4550 as well as 877 and 877A. I have tested mine with both the 877 and 877A by using the...
icd0286
Hi,
I also built the ICD2 clone using the PCB uploaded by PiCS. However I did not use the hex file he uploaded and therefor I had to add a >= 10K pull-up resistor to the 4550's MCLR pin.
Maybe this helps somebody.
Cheers
Johann
It's a bit like first having to look at the voltage on a voltmeter before you can write it down. You cannot write it down before you have determined what the value is.
Re: access lcd
Have a look at this project: **broken link removed**
It uses the PC parallel port and C# but it may help you to get going.

Hi,
I had similar problems with an ICD2 clone I built. I tried everything and in the end reprogrammed the PC with an LED flasing program which would not run unless I pulled MCLR high. I then added a 10K resistor between MCLR and VDD, reprogrammed the ICD firmware into the PIC, connected...
bootloader for pic16f877a
Hi Patric772,
I built the Inchworm ICD2 clone (see http://www.electro-tech-online.com/micro-controllers/22349-icd2-compatable-pcb-layout.html)
The 877A firmware can be found here **broken link removed**
Hope this helps
Cheers
Johann
