Hi, WimRFP!
Thanks for your reply.
It seems you are talking about noise matching in the first and second paragraphs, changing load impedance also change the equivalent noise voltage and current source at the input of LNA, and source impedance need to change for minimum noise figure(NFmin), and...
hi,
I am designing a low noise amplifier with the structure shown below. The impedance of port1 is 50 ohm.
1. when I change the impedance of port2 from 50 ohm to 100 ohm, the voltage gain from port1 to port2 inreases, but noise figure(NF) remains the same. I am confused with it, since the...
Hi, volker_muehlhaus!
Thanks for your reply.
yes, the return path should be same with it in actual circuit. but in my actual circuit, the return path is very complicated, and there exist several return paths which contains capacitors, transistors, resistors and so on. I do not know how to...
I'm simulating a spiral inductor with HFSS. Two terminals of the indutor lay on oposite sides. To form a complete loop for the current to flow, a return path is needed. As shown in the figure below, a square loop outside the inductor serves as return path, the square loop intersects with silicon...
Thanks, johnjoe.
yes, you are right. The dominate noise source is the first stage. But, according to my simulation, noise contribution of the first stage changes due to the variation of load impedance, and the noise figure remains exactly the same. I can not understand it.
Hi,guys!
I am designing a two stage LNA, and confused with the following problem.
when the load impedence changes, the gain of second stage changes, but the NF remains the same. In my opinion, as the gain changes, NF should change, since noise contribution of the second stage changes.
So...
Hi, all
I am modeling an on chip inductor and balun. The S parameter file has been generated from EM simulation.
Now, I am confused with extract lumped model from this S parameter File. ADS optimize tool was used to optimize the lumped model, it is ok with the inductor, but result in a large...
