I have used aurora as lightweight protocol for
backplane and
fibre transmission over iSFP OC48 transceivers at 2.48Gbps.
it worked very well although revisions earlier than 2.3 had problems going beyon 10km of fiber length.

due to cost cutting I want to implement the
xilinx aurora protocol over an external PHY. does anybody know if i can use the
philips pci express phy px1011a?
nextsierra phy?
please help as this is a critical project decision.
