Re: coaxial cable
hi
co axial cables has less attenuation than 2pair sheilded cables
and the capacitor between the core and the outer sheild is smaller than the 2pair cables that mean it may handle higher frequancy .
the cat 6 twisted pair cables are higher in performance for network...
comparing signals means comparing power of the two signals
i understand from your questions that you have 5V DC and 2.5V AC peak to peak
DC power will equal AC power when AC value is given as RMS (root mean square )value and not peak value
that means if in your system :
V DC *I DC=V rms AC *I...
i prefer to measure the baising voltages on semiconductor devices firs
then you can chech the intermediate frequancy stage and change the osciliscope time base till you get periodial signal which is the horizontal scanning signal and you will recognize in between adjacent signals a varaiable...
delta to star transformation
changing delta connected power sourse to star connected sorce will change the generated voltage and increase it by root 3
this is because the line voltage in star connection is a vector summation of two phases each phase is equal the output of the delta voltage...
generator rotor excitation
hi
as you know a DC current is required in the main rotor to generate voltage in the main stator
this DC current was supplied (before) in the same principle of injecting DC current to a DC generator by using brushes, and that DC current was controlled before...
Re: Must i select electrical or electronics and communicatio
hi
if you want to succeed in your life ,choose the branch that you mostly prefer and don't look to any other issue ,this will guarantee your continuous education and skills improvement that makes you the best in the feild.
Re: producing a spark
you can use the same idea used in cars where voltage is chopped then fed to high tension coil to give high tensio to spark plugs.
all the answers are giving the same meaning
regulation is keeping output constant when load is change
a simple example in gengrators when load changes the voltage drop will increase causing the output voltage to decrease
to keep the voltage constant we use the voltage regulator to increase...
Re: Is this correct?
if the voltage is AC ,and wires are long ,there will be capacitance and inductance effect (like power lines)
capacitance effect with ground can cause current to flow even if the end is open circuit.(leakage current)
inductance effect in the line can cause current reduction...
hi
Iguess if the wires are very long (transmission line)so a capacitor effect may appear then current will rise exponentially , and reflections may exist olso.
hi
if you intrested in practical work,i have seen a basic kit from a company named cosmos but i don't remember the origin it could be from USA,but it is for beginners.
but i suggest to use software like electronic work bench it may help you too much to make the measurments you are talking about.
