Load Current Limitation in LTC7000 High Side MOSFET Driver.

Hi everyone, I've finally got desire results. I attached my final schematic and simulation curve. During simulation I had these problems: 1- because of huge capacitance in the output I have a big inrush current (picture 3), so the LTC7000 detect this enormous current and after that disable...

Load Current Limitation in LTC7000 High Side MOSFET Driver.

I am only talking about simulation. After that I will make real circuit with LTC7000. It's a very good IC and have all of protections that we need. In previous version I made OCP, OVP and UVP using multiple Op-Amps and compactors. It wasn't as fast as possible.

Load Current Limitation in LTC7000 High Side MOSFET Driver.

Hi Klaus, I haven't made the new version with LTC7000 yet. I only attached that picture to show that I used Kelvin connection in my designs. As stenzer mentioned due to voltage ringing across my shunt resistor the LTC7000 went into OCP for higher currents. I replaced switching load with a...

Load Current Limitation in LTC7000 High Side MOSFET Driver.

1690019516 LEM current sensors are extremely expensive for high current measurements. Also they are too big and we don't have enough space. We used shunt resistor and Kelvin connection in my designs and measured current up to 200 Amps without any problem. For more safety I need to add over...

Load Current Limitation in LTC7000 High Side MOSFET Driver.

1689965137 Thanks for your point about BAT54, We used this shunt in previous prototype: https://eu.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Vishay-Dale/WSLP59311L000FEA?qs=UikTwjRNStJmyFWI%2FLKFZg%3D%3D But our circuit didn't work as fast as possible and we have to change the design and use LTC7000. In...

Load Current Limitation in LTC7000 High Side MOSFET Driver.

Hi I'm trying to design a 3-phase motor driver. I want to have over current protection in my design, so I have used LTC7000 in order to have over current protection in my bus line. the problem is I can't raise the MOSFET current (Load Current) above 10 Amps! with any shunt resister LTC7000 will...

How to generate a certain number of pulses with a fixed frequency but with soft start and stop.

Hi, I want to generate a certain number of pulses with a fixed frequency, but I want to start from a low frequency and increase it linearly until I rich to the target frequency (soft starting). the same procedure must be done for soft stopping. I am working on a 4-axis motion controller to drive...

Parallel connection of multiple half-bridge for high current motor applications

If I want to use an isolated DC/DC converter then I need to use an isolated gate driver and the total product price will be increased.

Parallel connection of multiple half-bridge for high current motor applications

Hi, I need to parallel about 8 MOSFETs on each side of my Half-bridge to make my 15Kw DC motor driver. If I use a common gate driver, I need more source/sink current. In the AN-978, page17 of IRF they propose a push-pull stage in each output of IR2110 to obtain more current: But I have a...

Parallel connection of multiple half-bridge for high current motor applications

Thanks, for your nice tips. In the CAS300 datasheet, they draw a single MOSFET half-bridge in the body of the module, Also in the last page of datasheet. First I thought they used one MOSFET in each side of half-bridge. But when I searched more I realized that they use these MOSFETs...

Parallel connection of multiple half-bridge for high current motor applications

In this module, they used a single MOSFET in each side! Also, they mentioned to "Ease of paralleling" in their features without any additional elements. If I directly parallel several modules I must consider enough dead time to avoid shoot-through between modules. Also by increasing the dead...

Parallel connection of multiple half-bridge for high current motor applications

Yes, I want to make a speed controller for a 15Kw Brushed DC motor. In DRV8412 datasheet(Texas Instruments PWM DC motor driver) they connect an inductor in series with half-bridge outputs and then parallel them. Can I use this method?

Parallel connection of multiple half-bridge for high current motor applications

Thanks, Klaus, How can I pass 300Amps through Mosfet? The only way is to parallel them, I did it before for a 1Kw motor driver but I used a single half-bridge driver and two parallel MOSFETs in each side of half-bridge. If I want to parallel more than two MOSFETs to make a 15Kw motor driver, I...

Parallel connection of multiple half-bridge for high current motor applications

Hi, I want to build a 15Kw DC motor driver. Is it possible to design five 3Kw half-bridge motor driver and connect them in parallel?
