Sorry my brotha! I do not have the exact values, but I suspect that it is between 10 to 100uH because the frequency is not too hight (remember: this is a very cheap charger). I recommend you try different inductors and capacitor values to get one frequency around 25 to 35kHz!

Try gcc from: http://www.codesourcery.com/ they are best solutions from gcc compilers for eabi, ucLinux and Linux (for some machines)...
You can use eclipse framework or just make all system in standard way (manual mode)...

GCC is the best, I think this because has long time in development and improvement, there support for many others languages (such that ADA, C++, FORTRAN, etc) and platforms... and is fundamental piece for building embedded kernel and applications in Unix-like environments...

Re: installation of ubuntu
A little detail: before try install the new OS, make a backup of your old files and before burn CDROM or DVD with the new OS, assure that the image is good using one checksum method like md5.

Dont wast time using poor and non ANSI C compiler like CCS. Use a good and ANSI C compiler like hitech or microchip on mplad ide!
There are lot of source code of system files (the elm is one). I think that microchip has own application note describing one system file...
