no, soory but they can´t be interchanged, because the 4550 has USB port and thr 4450 doesn´t. May be for a 4455, but may be exists problems with the memory ranges.
I use a 15 cm (5.9 inch) ICSP cable and a 10 cm (3.9 inch) USB cable, and have my ICD 2 board a 0.1uF (100nF) capacitor between power pins of any chip. It is exactly the same PCB of Int Art at page 25 of this toppic.
WOW, thank you very much. But why it sometimes doesn´t program ? or why in ocassions programs and others no? the debug mode i understand that some pics are unable to debug, but program, why no?

it was only a comment, because im making it beside this ICD2 project and it uses PIC18F4550 (2550) too, so is just a coment...

exactly the same thing hapeens to me withthe brener8 USB pic burner, there is not voltages at ICSP conector, sometimes the measuret voltajes are wrong, sometimes there is not reads... can be the type of transistors that i use? they are BC547 & BC557s. I don´´t use the USB to Vdd coil, i use 22pF...
yea, i stablished comunicatión now, (simply using an "A" PIC) the hardware is exactly the same, but now, wich points must i mesure?

(extra: i just damaged 2 4550 tring to make the brener8 pic burner... so i have only 1 4550 now... :(:cry:)

nothing, i tried on win98se, on winXP and nothing, the mas232 works fine, but when i use mplab, it says me error about windows api, cannot complete operation, and never works.... what can be?
thx for the hyperterminal, but it give me the error: Hypertmr.ddl is no found. Reinstall the aplication. But don´t worry, i have installed the normal Windows, in the hyperterminal, the max232 works fine, even i used it for my tiny PIC bootloader interfase, so im sure that it works fine, but...

i can´t find the hyperterminal, i use a personalized windows installation (by and for myself) and haven´t somethings, like comunications tools... i will try with a ordinary Windows XP version. After i done it, i will tell you what happened.
here is some pics of my rs232 icd2, and of mi config, i have 3 com port, i use the com 5 now, but i tried with all of them. This is my PCD ver of the slotz icd2. Do you think there is some wrong?

i only modified the schematis for change the PSU, to use regular parts on my area, 13 v for Vpp, 5 v for Vdd and 5.6v Zener+1 diode for MCLR from serial pc port. So i can´t understand where is the problem. i will keep analizing them, i have made already 4 versions.... all of them, i used teh...

hi, i just finished do the PCD for the old and simplest ICD2-rs232, i will try it first, and i will check if its succesfull, and comment about, then i will try again tehe USB versión....
