Hello,
I am a R&D designer and have a done a lot of designs and builds with no problems. However I am brand new to taking a design to manufacturing (100+) products. I realize that there are many variables and pretty clueless in knowing where to start. I would define the product to be the PCB...
Hi There,
I am doing some testing of S21/S11 with a vna. I am unsure about the quality of the current cables that are being used. Can you explain the best process and what to look for in measuring the quality of a cable for VNA measurements.
I know that the vna equipment is calibrating out...
Hi There,
Is it possible to deduce expected % attenuation of a signal being transmitted through medium of known dielectric parameters, s11, e'. There would be assumptions that the wave and material is within the beam width and the far field range of the antenna. For example the wave would be...
Hi There,
I have a project that will require the use of lower power fpga's (actel) which will require interfacing cmos camera, RAM, SD card, micro and other peripherals. The project's end focus to be able to stream video and save it into sd memory.
I have done very little design with fpga's...
Hi There I am trying to find a position controlled motor that is as small as possible, optimally using PWM. I have seen some that are 20-30mm, which is way to big for my application. Has anyone seen anything under 10mm or so?
What about a micro servo of some sort?
TIA
I am currently using an nMOS and a pMOS - SI2302ADS and NTR1P02LT1G to switch some switch low power to external peipherals. On the nMOS I am connecting load from vdd to the drain and on the pMOS load from vdd to the source.
On the PMOS I am trying to figure out the expected Id based on the...
Re: mosfet device parameter k
Ok, so no k, k'? What about Un, Cox, W, L ?? Are you guys using different equations that don't use these parameters?
How are you analyzing mosfets otherwise?
I am trying to characterize a mosfet device by using standard saturation equations using Id = k*(Vgs-Vt)^2 where k = 1/2k'(W/L) .
I cannot find that value of k or k' in the datasheet.
Can you please explain where I can find the k, k' parameters from the datasheet to be able to use these...
r/w cycles of SD card
Hello,
I cannot find any info on the number of read write cycles of a typical SD flash card. Anyone know this off the top of their heads :). For that matter does anyone have a link to the full datasheet of the SD card?
I have not been able to find the stated differences between a crystal and a crystal oscillator.
Can someone please explain the pros and cons to each of these? What applications would each be better used in?
looking at the datasheets it looks as though the IDD of the oscillator is extreme in...
Does anyone know of an rs232 to usb adapter that supplies a small usable supply voltage on one of the DB9 pins? This would be an optimal fix for what I am trying to do.
Alternatively I think this my work??? What do you think?
I want to be able to power an RS232 tranceiver with 2mA at a...
measure audio line level
I have a requirement to be able to be able to measure the audio level of an audio line. I am wondering if anyone has done anything like this using an adc of of PIC?
I am thinking about setting up an integrator circuit with some time constant to capture how much audio...
I would like some opinions on what would be the best protocol that that is recommended for intrument control by means of a serial port and a microcontroller.
It looks like GPIB is available for most instruments, but not through serial. It seems like a good idea to implement the commands names...
Im designing a board with a pic microcontroller. In the past i have used darlington arrays, which can be driven directly from the microcontroller. I now need to use a single npn transistor as a switch. In most applications that i have seen there is a biasing resistor being used.
I am...
Hello,
Im currently trying to design a pcb that is roughly .500x.500 " in size and i need to interconnect via a header or some other form. I can not find any breakaway headers under 2mm in pitch. I would like to use something more on the scale of a .050 " or 1mm pitch. It would seem that...
