    Mixer Cadence Simulations Help?

Thanks for the advice. Would any input power value do, or is there a specific range that should be used? Also, any tips for OIP3, image rejection ratio, or LO to RF leakage? Thanks a bunch!

    Mixer Cadence Simulations Help?

Hi, I am designing a mixer for a bluetooth radio transmitter for a school project. I am having trouble figuring out how to run simulations for the following specs that I have to meet. Gain = 0dB Do I just connect one port at input and one port at output and use sp analysis to measure s21? OIP3...

    Design of RF Power Amplifier

i mean transistor sizing as in what I should be gm value and such should I try to achieve. For the VCO i sized the transistor so that the gm value was greater than 1/Rp in order to have oscillation. I'm not sure why but my advisor said we did not need to do input matching.

    Design of RF Power Amplifier

any tips on transistor sizing? also, input matching is not a required spec for my design

    Design of RF Power Amplifier

Hi, I need to design a power amplifier for a bluetooth transmitter. I have designed a VCO and there are simple calculations that can be made for the oscillator to achieve all the desired specifications such as sizing the transistors such that gm is larger than 1/Rp so that the gain= gmRp > 1. So...

    Mixer Design for RF Transmitter

Hi, I am supposed to design a transmitter for my project. I have already pretty much finished the VCO and Power Amplifier and now need to build the Mixer. My professor said a Passive Quad-FET would be a good architecture to build. But I am confused on how the schematic for this looks. I keep...

Need to Improve Output P1dB and Output Power for RF Power Amplifier

I am designing a power amplifier for bluetooth applications. I need to get +3dbm output p1db and 0dbm output power. What are some keys things I need to pay attention to in order to achieve both of these? Right now I just have an input port connected to a series inductor and shunt cap at the...

Power Amplifier Design for Bluetooth Applications

So I am just trying to build the power amplifier on its own for now using the class A topology. I am not sure how to run output power and output p1db simulations on Cadence ADE. I was able to run output p1db but I am not sure if my setup is correct. I had just one port, which was placed at the...

Power Amplifier Design for Bluetooth Applications

All I have done right now is a vco design. I dont know where to go from there

Power Amplifier Design for Bluetooth Applications

I was told by my professor to connect the vco to the PA because that is how the bluetooth architecture is supposed to be.

Power Amplifier Design for Bluetooth Applications

Hi, I need to design a power amplifier for a RF transmitter and I am not sure how to start. I have the VCO built and I was told that the output of the VCO needs to go to the power amplifier. I was also told that a class AB amplifier is a good topology but I am not sure how to build this. I...

VCO How can I lower Phase Noise?

Anyone have tips on whether nmoscap or pmoscaps have less phase noise and should i use normal nmos or lvt or hvt transistors for the oscillator?

VCO How can I lower Phase Noise?

I have the VCO schematic above. I need a tuning frequency of 2.35G to 2.55G and phase noise to be below -115dbc at 1MHz. Right now I have the Phase Noise at -111dbc. I read somewhere that you can add a capacitor to the drain of the tail transistor to short the AC noise and then add an inductor...
