For the first point you need a Max 232.
For the second point
Rx microcontroller<-----pin (12) Max 232 (13)pin<----Tx Modem
Tx microcontroller----->pin (11) Max 232 (14)pin---->Rx Modem
Also see Max232, modem and microcontroller datasheets.
This is a part of code to read a sms, in "buffer" store phone number and sms.
In the main program I send to the gsm module AT+CNMI=2,2,0,0,0, the sms is routed directly to the serial port.
My english is not good I hope you can understand me
char buffer[60];
char b=0x00; // Last...
I had the same 517 error because in my case the sim card's voltage was not present (1,8V measure between pins 1 and 4 of the sim holder), the problem was false contact in the gsm module.
Re: problems interfacing Uc atmel8535 with sony ericsson T23
I use this circuit to connect pic and Sony Eric.. T290 and work fine. About cable I bought a DCU-11 model and I've removed the usb to serial converter only used the phone's connector.
Hi Amila, in my case I bought a DCU-11 cable I removed the usb to serial converter and only I used the mobile connector.
About phone connecor I've used pin 4 (Rx), pin 5 (Tx), pin 10(GND), and pin 11 (power)
Re: Please comment on my project, GSM security sytem using S
Hi, I've used this circuit and work fine with my T290 and pic, but pay attention on tansistors all of them must be inverted, mean emiters must be connected to ground.
About serial cable only I used Tx, Rx and Gnd.
I'm not sure but this model of phone mobile use fbus protocol it's hardest than AT command. There are a several mobile and modem which accept AT commands and lot of examples of project using AT command.
