    Gain and Diractivity of Antenna

Gain of an antenna could be measured with any 3 antennas, cos there are 3 unknow variables, gains of these antennas. You have to measure every kombination of antennas 1-2, 1-3 and 2-3 and you have system of 3 equations with 3 unknow variables. Every equation is in form: Ptx + Gtx - AIR LOSS +...

What are the differences between GSM and EGSM?

Re: GSM and EGSM EGSM means extended GSM, it has extended frequency band by 10 MHz in both uplink and downlink, so it has more 50 duplex channels. It is already used in all GSM networks.

What is the purpose of a 0-ohm resistor placed in a circuit?

Re: 0-ohm resistor I think, there is one other purpose of 0 ohm resistor. In HF technologies, there is sometimes better to use a 0 ohm resistor instead 2 vias, cos via has higher inductance and you don't have to go to the other side of PCB. In this case, you use 0 ohm resistor as some "bridge".

Narrowband filter design with LC components....need help ple

Re: Narrowband filter design with LC components....need help If you want to know the feasibility of your filter with discrete components, try some tolerance analyses and simulations. Then you will se the characteristics changes. At one time I tried to calculate the filter for 865-868 MHz band...

Simulation tool for PA with loop antenna

Hello everybody, what simulation tools should be used for twin differencial power amplifier on 8.1 MHz with low pass filter and balanced big loop antenna ("double eight" is the first antenna for the first differencial amplifier and "single eigth" is the second antenna for the second differencial...

    Patch antenna and WLAN requirement

A have designed a couple of WLAN patch antennas, so I can say, that they are suitable for this purpose. The critical parameters include gain and return loss of the antenna. Tha gain depends on losses in the feeder and substrate and also on the radiating pattern. The narrower the beam, the higher...

the number of wavelength in transmission line

As mentioned above, this number means nothing usable in ethernet cable. In some point of view, it can be interpreted as an electric length of this cable, which is in this case 1,5*360 deg = 540 degrees or 3 pi.

    design of RF amplifier

You have to specify at least the frequency and power levels.

    isolation resisitors in wilkinson coupler

Wilkinson as a power divider doesn't stress the isolation resistor, cos the signal in both branches has the same amplitude and phase, so the potential over the resistor is equal zero. In the case, that one amplifier burns, that output will reflect the half of the power from generator (Wilkinson...

    Very Low VSWR antennas

That's right, it doesn't affect radiation pattern, only gain. For better understanding, VSWR could be recalculated to RL ( return loss ). RL directly represents the portion of power, that reflects back from antenna to generator in decibels, e.g. RL = 10 dB means, that antenna reflect back to...

designing microstrip antenna with series feed

Wouldn't you like to use rather the CST or IE3D? I think, both are better choice for simulating MSAs.

What is meant by Rx level and what is its practical application?

rx level full and rx level sub I think, RX level is the level of the signal in the place, where you are receiving the signal. It can be calculated from the ouput power of the transmitter, radiating pattern of the transmitter antenna and distance between transmitter and receiver. It is the level...

Must the L>>C in the parallel resonant circuit??

The ratio between L and C defines the impedance of LC circuit, which affects the matching of the filter. So , it depends on the rest of the circuit, which value you need. The impedance of this filter is defined by: Z = sqrt( L / C ). So the bigger the inductance, and smaller the capacitance, the...

    CST - draw ellipse problem

Finally, I found it. You have to use VBA Macro. In menu choose Macros -> Construct -> Create 2D curve analytical. After choosing that, CST will construct some curve. Now you have to go to the History and than edit the VBA definition of made curve, there you can use parametric equation of ellipse...

Power Amplifier protection against high VSWR?

On which side do you want to protect the amplifiers against high VSWR? Input or output? What frequency?
