how to USE hall effect sensor ?

hi, I want to use hall effect on bike wheel but not sure how to use it. Is a 10k resistor between 5+ and output all that is needed ? (pins 1 and 3) will it toggle to ground/zero while connected to 5+ ? this blurb was on the site which has the sensor: Posted by Marcwolf on 15th Jun 2010 Bit...

good idea. so the quad switch is a low voltage operating relay.

    kirchoff's law problem .

could you please add image to the post so i can fo9llow better your thinking. itis interesting though i am not yetunderstanding and this current direction thing is where i make mistakes. i would be grateful. ps. thx LuW I was using electron current. It shouldnt matter should it so long as you...

    kirchoff's law problem .

    well it seemed to workout. 0=10-6*I2-10(I1+I2) = 10-16*I2-10 *I1 and 0=8-5*I1 + 6*I2-10 I1 = .2A I2 = .5A I3 = .7A It all seems to work out though it is a first for me :-) if I changed the direction of I2 and I3 it would change the +R2*I2 in the left hand equation to - . i...

YENKA simple series circuit voltage diagram. voltages calculated problem

Thank you for the diagram. much clearer for me. What is the effect here of placing or taking away a voltmeter. Ithought the voltmeter was only displaying voltages but to take one away affects the voltages , please.??

YENKA simple series circuit voltage diagram. voltages calculated problem

hi, i am using YENKA to diagram circuits. i dont get what it is doing when working out voltages in a basic series circuit. the picattached showsthe voltages it calculates. THE voltage it calculates do notadd upto the Totalvoltage. in red i have listed the correct voltage drops. CAN anyone...

    Transistor Switching Circuit

thanks but I still dont get why you dont just use 1 transistor ?

    Transistor Switching Circuit

Hi, I dont understand the theory behind the two transistor switching circuit . This is because I have used the parallel port to switch on a BC338 witch lit up a lamp from a secondary power source. In the picture, if it helps could you describe the operation of the circuit please.

What is the address of an I2C EEPROM ?

Thanks for that. It has me confused :) I have a 24LC256 EEPROM. I will download and read through the datasheet. From what I understand the control bit must be set to 1010 for a 24LC256 EEPROM and the A0..A2 must coresspond to how you have it wired. and then this I'll read up and see if I can...

how do compilers work please ?

Hi, I am curious about programming languages. Does a C++ and Visual Basic compiler (just random examples) produce the 'code' that is actually run by a PC. When a language is 'invented' is itreally a new compiler/enviroment that is created ?

Where to start peripherial equipment design

Re: Where to start Hi mwn, You can do all that with micochips. I think you could post this question either at picaxe forum or parallax forum. picaxe are pogrammed in basic, at the pararallax site they have 'Basic Stamps' which are expensive or propellor chips which are more powerful and cheap...

What is the address of an I2C EEPROM ?

Hi, I have nt used I2C before and need someone to help! I have connected a second EEPROM to the one that I use to download a program to the microcontroller. My question is quite naive. How do I address it and what part do the pins A0,A1,A2 play. What part does the unique address that is built...

useing a smart card instead of an eeprom chip for dataloging

I would like to use a smart card for storing data from a microcontroller. The card I had in mind is simply a plastic card with an eeprom chip embedded so I dont know if that is actually a 'smart card'. I imagine that you connect the card socket/holder to the microcontroller and read and write to...

A question about different microcontrollers ....

Thanks for that link. I double checked the price of the chip in the Jaycar manual,Jaycar is the best electronics store in australia, and the chip is listed at $39.95. I will be going there tomorrow to buy a serial LCD so I'll be asking them what the hell is going on...maybe its a typo, if not I...
